and I hope you all are as excited as me. This is the event that I've
been PRing for the past year, and I can't wait for all of you to enjoy it with me this year. Last year, we had several members of ModernVespa make their presence felt at the event. This year I hope we surpass the 25+ scooter that were in attendance last year.
I attended the final Task Force meeting, for Sunday's event, this last weekend, and I can absolutely guarantee everyone that this will be the best ride ever. A lot of meticulous planning has gone into the ride, itself, this year; and you won't be disappointed. No freeways; just beautiful back roads though lush countryside.
Some of you, like members of the SF Scooter Girls and the Royal Bastards Scooter Club might want to come up the day before so that you can do some independent riding with your club. If you'd like to come down a day early, the host hotel is the:
Hilton Garden Inn
2200 Gateway Court
Fairfield, CA 94534
(707) 426-6900
* The block of rooms is under the name "Steve Long" OR mention that you're with the "Ride for Kids"
Now for the important part; if you'd like to join me for the ride to Fairfield the morning of the event, meet me at the Long's aka CVS Drugstore Parking Lot, located at the intersection of Olympic & California Blvds in Walnut Creek. Meet there at 7:30a.m., and plan on leaving Long's at 7:45. We'll arrive at the Solano Community College by 8:15a.m. There's a Marie Callender Restaurant in that same shopping center, if you'd like to get a bit to eat before leaving; but there will be donuts, coffee, juice, granola bars, etc at the venue if you'd like to eat complimentary there!
Obviously, if you're coming from a long distance, setup your own group ride to the event using this website. If you're staying overnight, organize your own ride from the hotel.
A few of us have made huge commitments to this event and have been raising funds on our FirstGiving pages for the past year. If you can NOT make the event but would still like to contribute to the cause, please, make a donation at any of the following FirstGiving pages:
