Stealing license plates frames not cool. this also happens at the Harley Dealers when taking a bike for service.
Meh. I've never been fond of dealers (whether it be cars or scooters or pogo sticks) using the vehicle I paid for to advertise their business. If the other dealers were merely removing the license plate frame, I'd probably be ecstatic. Unfortunately, they're generally swapping one frame for another.

In any case, I'm having a hard time getting worked up about it. I think it's kind of funny, actually.
At least nowadays it is just a license plate frame. Remember years ago they would put a chrome badge or sticker on your car to advertise their dealership. That would piss me off.
true story. in 1999 or so i had everything done to buy a blazer save my sig on the paperwork. i told them i wanted that dealer-sticker-chrome-crap taken off the vehicle as part of the sale. guy said no way, so i walked. they followed me all the way to my car beging me to come back

it was THE PLACE to buy at the time, and the salesguy was being a dick. good move though, because i ended up finding a used one at a good price about 2 weeks later and saving a ton of money.

License Plate Frames.....
For those that were following along about my dealer taking off my collectible license plate frame and putting theirs on:

I stopped by the offending dealer on Sunday to chat up the Salesperson/Manager.... whatever her title is, I'm not sure... she has been very nice to me and seems to genuinely care about the dealership. I let her know about my experience with the contracted out Service Department and their need to steal license plate frames. She seemed appropriately shocked and appalled that they were doing that in the name of the dealerhsip, and assured me that she would address the situation immediately. (Thank you for taking care of the issue, if you read this board)

Yesterday, I recieved a subdued call from the Service guy asking for my address as he had 2 license plate frames to send me (mine and ???)..... I didn't bother to ask any questions. Just gave him my address.

I wonder if the issue is resolved there. I sure would like to have a local dealership that I can trust not to steal my SHIT!
