Modern Vespa

I'm moving to Tampa in November and planning to ride my scooter to work. Can anybody tell what are the rules & regulations for scooter riding in Tampa, FL?

I'm not in Tampa, but in FL, if you don't have your motorcycle endorsement yet, you will have to take and pass the MSF class to get it. When you pass, you don't have to take another test at the DMV.

I added the Florida laws to the wiki. It includes links to the various websites also. If you have anything over 50cc, it will be the same as a motorcycle.

If you have a motorcycle endorsement on your PR license, you should not have to take any test, other than an eye test in FL. At least I didn't from NJ. Not sure how they treat PR, but it should be the same. If you don't have a license, you are going to have to take a course.

If you are bringing your vehicles with you, be prepared for an impact fee. It is applied to all vehicles the first time they are registered in FL. I think it may be different for each vehicle, but check their website for the specifics. I had to pay it for all of mine. Can't remember if it was $100 or $200 per vehicle.
