Just use hand signals during the day. If you forget to turn those off you have bigger problems.
A left turn hand signal is fairly obvious, as is perhaps a stop signal. (But don't bet your life onnit!!)
But since they don't require hand signals anymore to pass a driver's test in most States, I'd bet there wouldn't be one in a thousand drivers who would know what a left turn hand signal is!

Well hopefully my breaklights would take care of the stop but you are right on the left hand signal. I find people waving back at me sometimes.

I used the home-brew buzzer for a while, but recently did this mod:

LX-150 Audicator Installation - With Pictures

The Audicator is nice, because it doesn't start beeping until after a certain number of flashes (default is 10.) And it doesn't start counting until after the brake is released and resets when the brake is applied.
Great tutorial, Danny! I have a flyscreen installed. Will I have to remove it first?
Thank you! Yes, I have the (cut down) Vespa tall windscreen. I had already removed it before I started taking the Audicator installation pictures, partly because I figured most people would already know how to take it off and many wouldn't have one to remove.

Beeper meeper whatever. I call it a meeper because I stuck Duct tape around it to quiet it down. It definitely "meeps"!

Thanks! Actually I like the term! And I know exactly what you mean about having to quiet them down. I don't have it on the scoot, but other "beep"ers in my life get really annoying and I tape them too! (I was afraid I was the only one!)

I'll be very interested in your opinion regarding the loudness of this flasher unit I've tried 3 different units and haven't found one loud enough. THx.

I tried it with a 12v power suply and the sound is not very loud but you get the real clicking sound. I got this part for 1.50$ at a cheap electronic shop so I guess quality is missing.
I going to try to go to honda this weekend and get the one they use in the Ruckus(it's very loud).
