I just call mine the scooter. I'm not that good at remembering names and giving the scooter one would be just another name to forget.

I decided her name had to be Italian, and after a few weeks it came to me: Mio Dolce - my sweet. She was a present to myself as I approach retirement. I'd never ridden before - and I love it!

So I've seen a lot of cool names here, but I guess my question is--are these complex names actually things you CALL your scoot--or more a funny/witty "name" that you tell people you "call" your scooter?

Even my eminently practical/simple "Parker" I almost never actually CALL "parker" in conversation...

mines a little too obvious as i wrote its name on the tank ... but the amount of petrol i spilt on it iit stripped the custom satin paint .... so i gave up rewriting it but its still known as the bitza cos thats what it is

Sasha....after the scooter in scrubs. And because before I found my vespa I was gonna end up with the same scooter from it.

But I imagine if it gives me trouble in the future it will have many names e.g. W***er! Or a**h**e etc

Mine are affectionately known as "Orange Bastard" and "Green Shitheap"

I call mine Mad Max, because he is a Road Warrior!

My Vespa is named Fabrizia.
I was stationed in Sardinia for a few years and a girl that baby sat my daughter was named Fabrizia. Always thought it was a cool name.

My Vino 125 was named Tallulah.

My baby Vespa is named after Sophia Loren. Just treated her to a lovely sponge bath after reliably taking me across Lesotho. She is a ET8 or also known as the ET4

For two years I resisted naming the scooter. But as my closest scooter friends continued one by one to start calling their rides by something other than "my scooter", I decided to join the pack or I guess the "herd".

"Gellasio". Thats its name. "Gellasio".

Gellasio was the new Pope's butler in an older film starring Anthony Quinn entitled "The Shoes of the Fisherman". I loved the name.

We are going to name our next dog (an Italian Greyhound) "Gellasio" as well.

I wanted to name her Black Betty, but I can't fit Bam-a-Lam on a vanity plate!!!

I call mine "Abby" because I drove 900 kilometres to Aberdeen, Saskatchewan to buy it. She needs a lot of work, a complete teardown and paintjob, so I won't be riding this year.

My GTS300 has two names. I tend to call it "the big blue meanie" and my daughter insists on calling it Saphira after the dragon from the Christopher Paolini books.

I brought it home on the back of my truck and then just rolled it down a plank onto the workstand. Yes, it's a 2x4 frame with an old door for a top and OSB sides.

I could of swore i answered this on this thread Mine is named Leonardo. It's Italian for Leonard, my cousin who died the same week as i got my scooter. Homage to him and he's probably pissed that i named "a scooter" after him.

I'm hoping to get my black LX150i.e. by the end of the year. Her name will be Caprice.
It means 'a sudden desire' or 'impulse'. Makes sense to me...

I have not actually bought my scooter yet.

I have just about decided on a Kymco like 200i. The "black" paint on them is actually black with blue metallic flecks. I kinda had an issue with this until I happened to see a crow. Crow's wings have blue highlights. Just like the Kymco. At that moment I became at peace with the factory paint and will name the scooter Karasu-the Japanese word for crow.

I did discuss this on another thread and was looking for input. I had narrowed it to Bellissimo, Holly Golightly and Waldo. In the end, it had to be Bellissimo. Extremely handsome.


The Italian word is formed from the masculine adjective 'bello' for 'beautiful, handsome' and the suffix '-issimo' for 'extremely, most, very'. It's pronounced 'beh-LEE-see-moh'.

Well there have been so many of them it is not surprising.

Still no name... just my scooter.
