i had a day myself. the guy i have a contract with for possibly purchasing his p200 is renegging on the contract with almost 2k of my money that he's refusing to pay me back for me giving him his bike back even tho the contract that i wrote up and we both signed explicitly states that it is an option if "for whatever reason" the deal isnt completed, the money goes back to me and the bike goes back to him. he's refusing. the contract also states that he wont try to legally or physically get my collateral back from me (his bike--he still has the title until we complete the transaction) but he told me over the phone that he;'s going to call the cops and (falsely) report it stolen, of course i have my original copy of the signed contract but that may not stop me from being put in jail or the bike being impounded until the legal system makes its ultimate determination--which, although the contract clearly is in favor of my actions, may not go my way. plus he may hire someone to steal the bike, im afraid, and then i wont even have any collateral and will really be up shits creek without a paddle. this guy (kyle) is really acting like a child and quite obtuse right now and im not really sure how to proceed safely. obviously im the idiot who entered into a deal with him. and get this--he hid the fact that the title was a salvage until i approached that issue directly (which, again im an idiot, i asked after i handed him the money). i guess you live and learn--the hard way often. i certainly wont make those mistakes ever again. at least his/my??? p200 rides like a dream (once i get the gear shifting cable/selector box issue resolved and it stops sliding out of gear (which, according to kyle, "had never happened" until the very day that i first was testing it out at home after picking it up from him that first night! imagine that. the first hour i drove it was the first hour it started having problems slipping out of gear. oh well. thats on me i guess. but all will work out somehow. i will probably have to sue him for my $1900 back plus legal fees and possibly "pain and suffering" or the title to the bike (full ownership) plus the same so that i can sell it to reclaim my lost money from his contract violation. i know everything will work out in the end somehow because my karma is pretty decent--i generally treat people way better than one has to. and i do it because i like to. im not downing any ass-holes out there. i can respect that too. i just take a different path. so we'll see what happens i guess.

today, my day is starting out shitty. after driving home from my girlfriend's house this morning, i set my coat and computer bag down. i then proceeded to let my dogs out and locked myself out of the house in the cold. i was crabby and flustered for about 3 minutes and during that time i was useless. then, i went through my truck and then my car looking for something to make into a tool to unlock one of my windows. found nothing. did i mention it was cold? i then took apart part of my back gate and made a tool and unlocked my kitchen window. i am still trying to warm up. maybe i will take a drive and buy myself a coffee. feeling stupid and cold.

i need to make an emergency key for my house and hide it.

good morning phonehomedeluxe -

any chance that you could paragraph your posts a little more?

I'm not trying to discourage you from adding anything, quite the contrary actually, it's very hard to read posts that are solid, un-spaced bricks of type.

day got better -

The distinguished gentleman from Culver City and i came to a compromise. As such my nightmare has once again become a decently good dream. I am happy to have the p200 of those dreams, though a few repairs are in order.

I basically spend half of each day driving her around long beach. Its amazing how happy a machine can make me--but im not arguing.

Thanks for the suggestion Danny--about indentation and paragraphs (and ill add capitalization for the heck of it). I though about doing that but didnt. Its a good idea. I'd hate for Jeremy to keep getting headaches.

And thank you jeremy for being the ray of sunshine that you are too. my best to both of you. And now that i am awake, I might be able avoid my angst-driven, run-on sentences--at least to a point.

so now: 1. gear shift cable fix
2. total paint job - dragon red, red-orange-type blend
3. black paint or powdercoat wheels
4. install bbq rack
5. connect engine exhaust to JL pipe more permanently
6. tune-up
7. ride her until the doors fall off

good plan

Dude, I'm a nice guy, with a healthy dose of cynicism sprinkled in. I too am new to these machines and learn by helping (when I can). I am trying to work my job and read MV at the same time. I don't have time at work to read a full page essay on why your bike jumps out of gear. Get to the point is my point.

Try this:
1. Gear Shift Cable Fix
2. Connect Exhaust
3. Tune Up
4. Ride
5. Install Rack
6. Ride
7. Ride
8. Paint
