repaired the flat on my px today also.....has been out of commission for 3 weeks until i got some time to repair it. when i went into the garage yesterday it was fine.....today there was a lot of petrol(gas) on the ground dripping from the exhaust. i suspect its to do with the fuel tap not being turned off while it was out of action. is it just a matter of getting rid of the excess fuel and de-flooding it?

It certainly could be flooded and hard to start.

What you want to do is check the needle valve and float in your carb to make sure they are working properly. Replace if necessary

In addtion to that, check the tightness of all of the screws in your carb to make sure you're not getting leaking from anywhere else.

Then...remember to turn your fuel tap off every time!
