Hi fellow LXV owners

I wondered what enhancements or modifications you'd carried out on your LXV's ?

I know about side/front chrome, and I'm hoping some might be coming my way this Christmas

What else might I be thinking about ? I've got to remember the warranty aspect though.

Does anyone know whether the GTS front mudguard chrome embellisher fits an LXV mudguard ?

Regards

Mike

The GTS front fender crash bar will not fit on the LXV/LX/S. One mod to consider is getting yourself a nice and loud Stebel airhorn. 8)

Hi Benito

It wasn't the GTS fender/mudguard crash bar I was thinking of, more the little chrome strip thing which sits on top of the front mudguard on the GTS, like this:

Thanks for the airhorn idea. I haven't had to use the standard horn "in anger" but I can see (hear) it wouldn't be the loudest ever

Regards

Oh, sorry about that, I misunderstood. I don't believe that the chrome piece you are talking about will fit, but I am unsure. However, you can buy the one for the Vespa S, that one will fit for sure as the fender is the same for the S and the LX. You will need to drill holes to mount it though I believe. At least for the GTS you need to drill into the fender to mount.

The LXV has a fly screen doesn't it, but if you don't have a fly screen I'd definitely get one, much more comfortable and gives and extra ~5mph.

Thanks Benito, I knew the S/LX/LXV were all derivatives, so I should have thought of that, I've found one and added it to my wishlist.

Cheers

Hi 558, yes it does, about 2 inches high

So something bigger to keep the windchill down.

Cheers for that.

Hey 60yoMod,

Most of my LXV mods have been cosmetic:

1 Side Crash Bars
2 Chrome Front fender guard
3 Chrome Horn Cover
4 Chrome Louvered Door
5 Stebel Magnum Horn

I'd like to add another headlight, but I'm not that mechanically inclined.

A bigger fly shield might be a nice touch. You can also get a flag pole with a
beaver tail attached (does anyone know the significance of that...I remeber seeing it in Quadrophnia)!!

1) and 2) were on my list, now there's more

Also on my list are a couple of little Vespa triangular flags, which come with 0.5m poles to attach to the rear rack. Back in the day, some mods sported large whippy aerials with a fox/beaver tail fluttering away at the top, but I don't feel I need to be that "retro"

I think it was just to match with the fur collared parka.

The fender ornament will fit. The louder horn and side crash bars are 100% needed items in my book.
