Last Weekend I took out the battery on my 300. I did not have a cover at the time. Today my cover arrived. Before putting the cover on, the foot area was a little dirty so I wanted to clean it off. I usualy keep a pillow case that I use as a rag under the seat. I pressed the button to open the seat over and over with no luck. I almost never had a problem opening the seat with the battery in and no key in the ignition. I only had a problem once that I could not open the seat, but after putting the key in the ignition I was able to open the seat. Is this a problem just because there is no battery or is this a bigger problem?

If the lock on the 300 is the same mechanism as the 250, and I bet it is, its an electric lock and won't open without the battery in.

Inside the glove box is a black manual pull lever for the seat. It's on the top left I believe and you don't need power to open the seat. Vespa put that there in case you killed your battery. Also sometimes you need to use 2 hands to get it open, one to pull the lever and the other to open the seat at the same time.

I despair.

The set opener needs some power from somewhere, where the fuck do you think it comes from?

The Bloody Battery.

I despair.

Sheesh, how do some people reproduce?

No, No, It's why do we let them reproduce? You are over there. Go by Westminster and give Charles Darwin our sincere apologies. We have perverted his perfectly workable process.
