Putting together a tool kit to keep in the scoot. Small compressor, tire repair kit, jumper cables, electrical tape, extra fuses, spare headlight, duct tape (my favorite), flash light, map, cell phone charger...what else should I think about adding?

Dump the jumper cables and add cable-ties and a spare graphite exhaust collar if going far from a dealer. They do tend to go at the most inopportune moments, and it's always worth having a spare anyway.

Check this fairly recent thread, and its an easy search for more, too.
Our best bet for an mp3 toolbox |

I doubt I'd take a spare headlight along since you already have more than most other vehicles. A wise friend of mine once said to me at the beginning of a very long journey: Pack half the clothes you think you'll need and take twice as much money; while on the road there are very few things you'll need that can't be obtained by rubbing a credit card against a Wal-Mart. Sage advice. From me: Take your cell phone.

Part #11-874946-11. Don't know if Athens has it in stock, but here's the page:

I returned the factory Piaggio Mp3 scooter cover to them because it did not fit my Mp3!! Waiting for the refund now. |

LL75 If the travel cover is lightweight and on par with the quality of their other covers, it will be a good investment for a road trip. I am still unsure what to make of the fact the Piaggio factory cover - at $99 - would not fit an Mp3 500... but if that's the path to come to a decent cover like expected with the BB, so be it. |

I gotta be missing something here. Part#11-87466-11 cost .01 (a penny). What am I missing?
You're missing the conversation with Scott or Jason at Athens Scooter where you get the price... You'll note many items on that page have the placeholder selling price of a penny. BTW, I bought two graphite bushings (which are p/n 874946) for $28. Be sure to use either the free shipping or 10% discount option they offer on your order!
Gotcha...thanks. |
