The VespaUSA.com site has the 300's wheelbase as 53.9" and the 250's wheelbase as 54.9". The local dealer thinks it might be a mistake on the site. Every other dimension on the two bikes seems to be the same. The only differnece I can see is the the front shock may be different.

Anyone have information on this? The implication here if it is so is that the rake on the fork is might be less thus making the steering even more "twitchy".

If this is so, would a 130/70 tire help this condition? I alway have a minute of mental adjustment to go through when I switch between the Burgman 650 and the Vespa. Like pay attention if you sneeze or you might wind up in the next lane.

My handbook lists the wheelbase as 1370 cm (53.9 inches) so I guess that's probably right

I'll bet the 300 has lost the handlebar shake with that extra dimension. I'd be willing to be the steering head angle has changed. Rake and trail...

My best guess

That would be my guess.

Wheelbase is specified as 1370mm for both the GTS250 and the GTS300 in their respective workshop manuals (53.937in). So 54.9in is a typo.

Oddly enough, my GT200 had the head shake when I first bought it. Now I can't get the head to shake even a little.

I didn't write that I couldn't be wrong. And if I am, then the only question I would still have is maybe the "fork" is either too tight or too loose.

When something bounces like that at a given speed I tend to believe its a cause of binding somewhere.

Hey, if I'm wrong I'm wrong. I have no problem with being wrong.
