My mother was from Germany and I spent many summers their as a kid with my grandfather. I remember how excited I was to wear my Lederhosen to school one fall when I returned to the US with them for the first time.

OMG as a native bavarian my eyes are bleeding

a Lederhosen without Haferlschuah and a Dirndl without apron is a no go.

Here they say:

"Die einzige Tracht, die dem Preußen steht, ist die Tracht Prügel."

(lives from the double sense of "Tracht" and means:"

The only traditional custome that fits the Prussian (synonym for anybody not bavarian) is a trashing.
