That's almost my dream machine. But I would like it with the original wheels and a spare with the spare fuel tank fitted, and a kitted PX200 engine.
My first two scooters were GS150s, and I have always thought them the most beautiful Vespas ever, but I also think the PX is the most reliable of all. So your scooter is tops in both categories. I really envy you having that machine. Mike |

Wow! that is really one custom scoot. where do I begin with this. let's see first the paint looks custom not stock what color is it? I'm not that familar w/vintage frames before P series vespas but it looks like you've done some cutting into frame too allow for PX engine. It also looks like you have done some modifying to the engine cowling it looks bigger and the louvers that allow for the panel to raise up like a gull wing door I've never seen before. The chrome particularly the rear crash bars & front fender guard are they fabricated? I've never seen those in the states let alone in UK magazines I've browsed through either. Again maybe just my naivete but switch on top of headlight is that on off switch for headlights? The PX engine I can't ell if it's stock or has it been kitted? Lastly the tires & rims look like the are from LX 150 what was done to fit those? does the GS handle better as a result? and the spare tire rack for original tires cannot mount the LX spare I'm guessing. 9 months is an incredible time schedule for this much work. thumbs way up!

Sun Dec 13, 2009 12:13 pm you built it??? No sir I'm lucky to have my mechanic/builder as my neighbor he was known in vespa community here in manila as Jay Martin/Vespa Frankenstein because of the way he custom made a vespa. VEZPA Sun Dec 13, 2009 1:16 pm REALLY NICE ! Thanks Vespa!! Mike Holland Sun Dec 13, 2009 2:38 pm That's almost my dream machine. AdamW Sun Dec 13, 2009 7:43 pm Beautiful. Just beautiful. Yeah she really is derburgermeister Sun Dec 13, 2009 7:58 pm AdamW wrote: Beautiful. Just beautiful. uh huh. Hi cheetoh, the color is...I have to ask my painter he he, yup some modification was done in order to accomodate the engine, shocks, fork and gullwing door, fuel tank was also modified for the 2T chamber, crashguard, front fender guard and spare tire carrier are all ULMA from the 50's also a little bit modified, yes it's the light and engine switch the red button is the electric starter, the engine was stock, fork, rims and front and rear disc brakes are from piaggio hexagon shocks from et4, tires is tubeless so no need for spare I'll just put a white side wall tire at the carrier just for the vintage look . The ride was superb 90kph is easy not bad bad for a 50 year old looker bike !! Oh I remember the name of the paint colo is "Rosso Damask" Visakhansanova Sun Dec 13, 2009 9:22 pm Nice brad... but very beautiful if you making to the original GS all part n machine... Yes nothing can beat the original stock, but i'll rather have a dependable bike that can take me wherever i want to go w/out worries of engine problem.. |

Absolutely stunning!
I have most of a GS150 myself, in a moment of rose tinted fever I bought the remains of a 'Schmitt VS3 many years ago, with the intention of restoring it. However I have no motor, and despite years of collecting parts, still need too much to make it a viable resto project, so would like to do something like this as well. I also need a speedo if anyone out there has one? |
