Here is an image of Aston Martin's new Cygnet luxury minicar.
The Cygnet is expected to hit the European auto market in 2010 before making its way further west. Initially it will only be offered to current Aston Martin owners, but will eventually be made available to the general public. Expect a sticker price of $32,000.

This is ready for upcoming regulations where an auto manufacturer has to meet an average Co2 minimum across the range. In order to continue to be allowed to sell lovely Vantages and so on they have to have a 'clean' minicar in the range. I've got nothing against the idea but Aston Martin's execution is fucking awful, sorry. I'd take a Toyota IQ no problem (every time over a Smart) but that rendition is shit

Expect to see a Fiat Panda next with Ferrari stickers and a fancy mesh grille. Or an Audi A3-based Lambo Bugatti Beetle anyone?

At least Porsche are going to do it right. A small, light, economical 4-pot sports car in the mould of the old 356 and 912 is to be added to the range in 2 or 3 years time. If they do follow through with this then I'll forgive them for the Cayenne Nerd emoticon
