I have a 74 Rally with a well worn seat, am thinking about replacing it with a single one. I like the look of a single seat can you just whack one on? I have tried the search function but it didn't come up with much.

Yeah you can just whack one on. I've actually seen single seats on P's before. I think you need to get the bracket though from one that had it and you are good to go.

You might want to rethink the the single seat thing . The comfort is night and day. OEM seats are hard to find and keeping it stock will help hold its value.
All seats are rebuildable... Pirite apolstery.com is a resonable place. |

you can just one slap on
they will fit but as someone mentioned the comfort is debatable. I had one on a super and did some long trips with it. You kind of get used to it even if they seem hard, the spring sorta makes up for the difference but takes some getting used to, the bounce that is. I think the worst thing about them is the position they put you in which is quite forward and you can't shift, well you can but then it is quite uncomfortable. I welded a piece on to move mine back but you can only go so far due to the filler cap. If you have long legs or a spare tire in the step through area you may not like it. Not many people like them although the look is kinda cool, they changed to the long one piece seat for a reason, comfort and versatility.

How tall are you? Near six feet or above I'd go stock. Unless of course you want to steer with your knees.

If you are thinking on replacing your stock Rally seat with a repop?
The cost for a repop and a re- do are close. Also the old seats are comfy. I redid my Rally seat and had the guy save the Piaggio silk screen section on the back. He tied it in well with the new materal. The only thing I left off was the strap( to uncomfortalble). I still have the old strap and hardware. If I want to put it on. |
