I am decided:
I have pre-ordered a 300 Super as a replacement for my unfortunate 'Donna Rossa' GTS 250.

In Holland (for those who do not know: in Europe ), the moment it is officially registered/licensed, that is the offical 'year' of the scooter.
So I have planned to have it registered early 2010...the Super is on stock at my dealer and might have been there since spring 2009.

My question now is if there are any technical differences between a 2009 and 2010 GTS Super?
Price differences are not the issue's here, but maybe there are tech tweaks, like a different speedo, gas meter, tyres or something?

I tried the 'Search' via "300 AND Super AND 2009 AND 2010" but only found that the real 300 Super was not on the US market in 2009.

PS: A Dragon Red this time to replace the Vintage Red.
This is a picture at my dealer. The red 300 Super is standing just behind the PINK...my wife favoured that one.
Actually I loved white most but Bianca and the P200 are already white.

At first I thought you had purchased a pink Super, which would have been the first one I'd seen. Congratulations on your decision, I think you'll love it. I don't know of any differences in specs between the 09 and 10 models.

Ha ha, I just knew that the picture would cause an off topic event Laughing emoticon

No pink...just a true RED DRAGON GTS 300 SUPER for me!
I am curious if the promised extra torque will be noticeable. Also in doubt how to run in. Easy and modulated for 1000 km. or give 'm hell from the start

OH MY!

Look at the white city Cube on the back wall with the Black rims in the Photo. I love it Buy THAT ! I wonder if it is a 300 City Cube?

To answer your question in the USA the difference between the 2009 and 2010 Super was

2009 The Super was a 250 with the GTS250 dash.
2010 The super was now the 300 with the analog dash.

The 2009 was a real oddball and is rarer and probably someday be worth more $ It was never really advertised. It was supposed to come to the states as a 300 but I believe Vespa was having problems getting it OK'd by the DOT so they brought in the Super with the old 250 engine. apparently they were labeled 300 when they got here but dealers were later instructed to remove the 300 badges and replace it with 250.

Everywhere else in the world the 2009 and 2010 supers were true 300's.

You will notice the difference in torque immediately when you twist the throttle. You don't need to break in the engine to notice it. I believe that you should break in the engine hard from the start, just don't run out of oil on the highway.

A Super is a Super is a Super
So I guess that in Europe production of Supers is equal in 2009 and 2010...no need to be concerned about having the stock 300 Super.

I would prefer running in hard an rough from the beginning, although dealer might suggest differently. Having red Jess's WIKI article about running in it does makes sense to give 'm hell from the start

For those who like the Pink Vespa, it is based on the designs of Blond Amsterdam who have a lot of such stuff

Yes, there is no official difference between the the 2009 and 2010 models. In the US the 2010 model is in fact the 2009, so your question may seem confusing to some here. However, I would hope that Piaggio has made some unofficial upgrades along the way. The first GTS 300 hade some minor problems with plastic chrome and stickers falling off. Some experienced rain leaking in the instrumet panel. There were also early reports on the fuel pump not beeing all that reliable. The engineers at Piaggio would now have had a chance to correct such faults? The only novelty in the GTS 300-range was the introduction of the GTS 300 SuperSport at the EICMA show in november. This turned out to be all cosmetic, with no technological alterations what so ever. Nice looks, though...
