It has rained three days straight where I live. And the forecast? Rain until Christmas day afternoon then changing over to snow. I was talking to a guy at our Christmas candle light service tonight that grew up in Springfield and I asked him if he ever remembered it being this rainy, and he said never and more than likely this year will go down as the wettest ever. In the past four months it has rained 3 and 4 days in a row, then a 3 day break then more rain 2 too 3 days in a row. My back yard is pretty much flooded and the neighbors across the street have a swell ditch and it is over flowing. Man, I'm sick of this RAIN! Rant over, Merry Christmas to all.

Before the big freeze here it had pretty much rained since September which thankfully didn't get in the way of the riding. No chance of turning a wheel again this year by the looks of it.
Boulty, I'm at yours for Christmas next year. You guys do much for Hogmanay? |

The rain ended and the snow started, no problem though as the streets were clear enough to get to the theatre to watch Avatar in 3D. A pretty amazing movie, but that is what 3 million dollars will get you. Any thoughts on a sequel?

We are still getting rain up here in Chicago. If it was a few degrees colder over the last 2 days we would have had 2 feet of snow easily. It's currently 37 degrees. I hope it stays above 32 for a while more so we can miss the snow. It's going to be some bad sheet ice here later.

I can definitely empathize. It has rained over 22 inches this month already. Fortunately, we don't have to deal with the snow down here.

Rained most of the day yesterday - Christmas day. It made for a pretty lousy party on the beach and delivering my presents to friends scattered around the island wasn't all that much fun either. Lots of rocks and debris all over the roads.
So far, it was the only day I kind of wished I still had my car. Very soggy and quite unusual here really. Hopefully, today will be better. I am getting together with friends on the other end of the island and really don't like riding in the rain much. I am a bit of a coward when it comes to boulders falling from the hills and bouncing onto the road. |

No rain here in sunny Cairo Egypt!!
Last Friday it was so cold and miserable in Germany... snow on the way... So I packed up, hit a travel agency and landed here in the sun Bad thing is that I haven't found a scooter rental, but with the way they drive here, perhaps it is a blessing I did think enough of all of you to drop in and cheer you up. Don't worry... a few more months and the snow will melt! Just joking - all the best to you |

Rain last night and today melted the 18 inches of snow we received last Saturday. Back yard is a lake, the sump pump is in turbo mode. At least it's warm.

Christmas Day was warm and sunny
Christmas Day was warm and sunny in Orange County California, We need all the rain we can get. The last time we had any rain that amounted to anything would be the 12th of December. What I don't get is why the water going down the drains go to the Ocean, woundn't it be better if we had a large lake to put it in, it would go into the ground water system for future drinking water, the Ocean has enough water all ready.

For example, large volumes of ground water used for air conditioning are returned to aquifers through recharge wells on Long Island, New York. Aquifers may be artificially recharged in two main ways: One way is to spread water over the land in pits, furrows, or ditches, or to erect small dams in stream channels to detain and deflect surface runoff, thereby allowing it to infiltrate to the aquifer; the other way is to construct recharge wells and inject water directly into an aquifer as shown on page 10. The latter is a more expensive method but may be justified where the spreading method is not feasible. Although some artificial-recharge projects have been successful, others have been disappointments; there is still much to be learned about different ground-water environments and their receptivity to artificial-recharge practices. |

Considering how many states were in official drought conditions (not just here on the West Coast) any rain anyone gets is okay in my book, even if it means I don't ride.
Rained yesterday, but it's sunny right now. It's supposed to rain again midweek. Rain was lucky for me as we had a power failure last night for about 2 hrs in my neighborhood. It meant I could light a fire in the fireplace and not get cited for wood burning. No rain means 'spare the air' days and no fires. |

It stopped snowing this morning after all the rain, so know I have a frozen lake in my back yard with 5 inches of snow on top of it. It's supposed to be sunny the rest of this afternoon, Mon & Tues and Wednesday, you got it a rain/snow mix. About the only thing good this time of the year is no tornadoes, but then again March is quickly approaching.

You're complaining about **3 days of rain**?!
