Wife got me an Olympia Motosport airglide II mesh jacket and a pair of Aerostich Vegan gloves! 41 degrees on my ride into work today and I was toasty. The tall fabbri helped though.
![]() Don't I look good in it? ;)

Why would someone who enjous Roy Deals in Perry buy "Vegan" gloves?
I was thinking about buying an Airglide jacet for my summer jacket. I'm going to replace my Blue Joe Rocket with something in high-vis yellow. Thanks for the post. After using a few more days please post some more detail on how you like it. |

Wait oysters aren't vegetables? Yeah I will post more on the jacket...so far so good. It is a 2XL and fits well. The girl my wife bought it from said they run small. I think she got it in Daytona but I will check...she said they really sounded like the knew what they were doing.

I got a self-inflating mattress and my husband's gift is a camping vacation on the bikes this summer. I'm trying to decide if we are just riding up through the mountains around here, which is definitely wonderful riding, heading on up the Appalachians to see Niagara Falls (cliche I know, but I want to see it), or probably trailering out toward South Dakota or Wyoming and riding a whole different kind of mountains. I don't like the idea of trailering, but that is about 22 hours away and it would be quicker to just haul butt out there in the truck on the interstate, and my hubby doesn't have 3 months off in the summer. Decisions, decisions.

My lovely wife surprised me with the heated Piaggio leg cover (or at least a photo of it - ScooterCrazy has not shipped it out yet).
The real gift here is an extra month of commuting-on-scoot weather. Oh, and something relevant to post to this thread |

Might be a stretch for some but I got a Canon S90 compact camera. I was getting grumpy about missing shots when on the scooter in traffic. My sweeties solution to that was to get me a pocketable camera that takes high quality pictures so I can whip it out while on the scoot. Cool! Haz best sweetie evar.

I've tried lanyards, even one of the type that hugs the camera to your chest, all with minimal success. I'm going to see if I can fabricate a pocket with a velcro flap and mount it on the dash where I can grab it in a hurry. Rain won't be a problem as I'll just put it inside my jacket. The main thing I'm wanting to achieve is a fast access before that moose wanders off the road..or bear? Let me know how you approach this issue. ![]() LL75 ![]() |

Unzip jacket a bit, pull out by lanyard, poke power button and ready to rock. I wish the little guy was ike my big SLRs - when they sleep all it takes is a tap on the shutter and they're awake. Not so with the lil bugger - you have to poke the power button. I know, I know.... "in a perfect world..." Hmmm will have to give some thought to a velcro closed pocket case fastened to dash or under windshield. It would still need a lanyard as I simply expect being fumble-fingered with any kind of gloves on. There's also the gorilla pod that would mount on bars - maybe that has a quick release... can do videos then too! Videos can be fun - Oscar (of teh Austin Scooter Club) does vids of our rides and they are really fun to watch. See if this one works: http://www.facebook.com/p.php?i=552379905&k=5ZG65W52PT2DVJCITKXVPVWQRTKEV6&oid=226616884214 |

I got a rock.
(Oh wait, that was Hallowe'en.) Nothing for me , but somebody gave my GF a little fold-up car seat warmer with a 12VDC plug. I'm eyeing it because I'm wondering if it would fit over the /500 seat and plug into (and not overload) the underseat power jack. Sticky, I was hoping for a particular jacket from Wilson Leather (I guess nobody picked up the hint) but that jacket of yours looks fab. Hey Larry, you sure that thing isn't a radar gun? Hey don't forget, RAM makes a little handbar mount for cameras with a 1/4-20 tripod hole. You could even lean it over outboard of your windscreen. |

Got myself an LED battery gauge in black (not chrome!). Had bought a signaldynamics.com heads-up voltage monitor first, but after receiving a unit that did not work and getting a replacement, I still was not happy with the way it functioned (it uses a combined red/green LED for display, and the yellow is too difficult for me to distinguish from the green)... so I opted for the Kuryakyn battery gauge. Not yet installed but I did test it and it seems to work well. I will install it just above the information plate on the right (by the right knee) where the LEDs will be visible enough without being pointed directly at my eyes as if it was installed on the dash.
BTW, signaldynamics refunded my entire cost including shipping - which was refreshing. I like their headlight modulator - great product - but the voltage monitor didn't do it for me. The signaldynamics voltage monitor is also listed on the customdynamics page just below the Kuryakyn unit, linked above. Got a few other things too like Dr Pulley sliders, and now need time off to get them installed! I can get myself holiday gifts but not the time I need to play with them... |

Wayne B Thats when I moved on to the type of harness that holds the camera against your chest using a harness rig with the lens sticking out of a corresponding opening. It seemed like a good idea at the time and from the standpoint of stopping the thrashing around it worked. It was still nearly a 2-handed affair to pull it up and shoot pictures though so it's joined the rest of my collection of useless things. For me the best thing I came up with was keeping the camera in the top of my tank bag so all I had to do was unzip the cover and grab it. Thats why I think I'll look for a somewhat loose holster with a velcro flap that I can mount on the dash, probably the left side. BTW, this is not a big deal so I wouldn't want to see anyone waste much time on it, I'll get a solution figured out eventually. Thanks, LL75 |
