There is a discussion going on, on the Dutchclub forum about placing 4 reflectors in a 250/400 unit

I was thinking about buying a second unit and grind pieces of that one and place them under the orginal refelctors ( silverbowls )
and weld them with a plasticweld and some glassvibersheets

any one, any other bright ideas?????

see link and translte wth google or something else

first better visablety the netherladnds is a wet country rain, fog so other drivers will see you sooner

second most people drive also late in the evening and night so every want to see as much as possible thats why i did the fuoco front conversion but now there is a member who don't like the looks of the Fuoco/500 so now we are thinking to fit 2 low beams and 2 high beams in a 250/400 unit

The 2 lights mod don't solve the problem all the time

Oh i see! I thought you were talking about adding more turn signal lights...
I'll do the 2 extra front position lights mod as soon as i receive my buzzer for an audible turn signal reminder. I've already got 2 white super bright inverted leds for this mod. If you want more visibility on an mp3 LT you could check out my taillights..

that's not what we are looking for :p there are dutch club members that drive with 2 100watt super white xenon look bulbs

but everybody wants to be able to switch between high and lowbeam when you do the mod for the 2 lights you have to set the highbeam lower because the on coming traffic so we are looking for something to put in the unit so you have 2 high and 2 low beams

my idea don't work the reflector is 1cm to big Razz emoticon so that one won't fit

If you are looking to add lights to allow others to see you more, do you need to have 100 Watt lamps? 100 Watt lamps are great as headlamps but too bright for fog. Much of the extra light is reflected back at you in the fog.

Would a series of smaller LED lamps be better?

They are looking for better personal visibility - so they can tell (in fog, mist or rain) where the road and drunken 50cc riders are.

All this was considered long and hard with X9s. Luckily with them there was an earlier model (250SL) that had both lights on main or high-beam.

Maksor, without spending loads of money on a custom (university project?) design, it's a practical no-no to keep proper beam alignment.

we have a solution but that one is less beautyfull

exchange the highbeam reflecotor in the unit for a lowbeam and fit a external highbeam on the outside where the emblem is of piaggio on the V shaped cover

_O_
0_0

and we would like to do it for both reasons so you can see better and futher away and that other drivers will see you better in the city's most think that it is a mopped (50cc) so thay don't give you the rightaway

For me they fuoco conversion solved that problem

And the X9 conversion everybody was doing that overhere Razz emoticon you should think piaggio has learned but they did they same with the mp3 one little lowbeam

H4 is 55 and 60

55watts for the lowbeam
60 for the high

And these won't get any hotter then the stock 55w H1
because there is a clear lens fitted so all the heat will go out the back

so it won't give a white haze on the clearplastic of the unit the H1 will do that eventualy

I want to do this mod if possible for a 250.
Do you have to do the wire mod still (both lights on mod?

Right, I at least ,am with the program, but knowing me, it is not practical to take out my headlight unit, do the conversion, and put it back.

I will take out the headlight unit, run into some snags, decide to go for a run on the Lambretta, come back to it, make some progress, not have the plastic weld around, track some down, and then a couple of months later, having wrecked the dining room, finally get it finished.

So, given the fact that I will have to start with a spare 'OE' light unit and build from scratch, arriving at a plug and play replacement that will allow me to have a fair chance of not having the Mp3 off the road for six months, is there a shopping list of what I need to assemble one of my very own, Blue Peter Style. (A reference here to a very long running kids TV program that encouraged children to build a moon probe from six toilet rolls, an empty washing up bottle, and yards of sticky back plastic, 'get down shep' )

That is:-

You will need a dee daH dee dah dee dah , an ojameflip and three doohickies, stick part a to part b etc. Then when I am left with a spare unaltered unit, I can pass it on, like an Olympic torch to the next modder.

I have waited Three years for this. I had plans and ideas of my own, but work, life, and ride outs on the Lammy rather got in the way.

Fondest,
Fay

if you buy this one and convert it to H4, you need to find lights that you can screw on to the bottum of the lightunit and then your oke like the pictures showen above

thats the easiest way there are examples of people using hoseclamps with long bolts, and then they are adjustable

inside the originallightunit

purple is high beam
brown is low
black is ground
yellow is sidelight/parkinglights ( the little ones above the low and high)

you need to buy light units that have Ø 10cm or 10.5cm not any bigger that have H4 and cables attached, prices variating between 70 and 129,- euro's the one i used are nighthawks and are for Harley and Triumph choppers came with everything attached cables and plug
