In case we need one more RoM thread, here's my route for tomorrow. Hope to see some of you along the way
 Got to make one stop in OC and one in the valley, so the first half is freeway. The second half should be lots of fun though! Will post pics after returning. (edit - pics of the routes there and back now posted) ⚠️ Last edited by ks7877 on UTC; edited 1 time

The first 150 miles of the route up to San Luis Obispo was / is not really picture-worthy: Interstate 5 - 22 - 405 - 118. It does get better . . .
Ronald Reagan Library - Simi Valley  Lots of citrus groves north of Moorpark  Lots of lemons leaving Fillmore  Walnut Canyon Road / Grimes Canyon Road - Hwy 23 to Fillmore  Ojai Road - Hwy 150 Saint Francis Dam Disaster Memorial, Santa Paula  Thomas Aquinas College  He seemed a little jealous.  Black Mountain Ranch - trees just about to bloom  Maricopa Hwy - Hwy 33 All four pics taken from The Ojai Valley turnout / overlook  view of the valley  the road just ridden (fun)  the road ahead (fun x 2)  Cuyama Hwy - Hwy 166 Did somebody say all the roads here are straight?  Pine Mountain summit - elevation 5,160 (pics do not do it justice)   another orchard in bloom  Lopez Drive, Arroyo Grande one of the many central coast vineyards  Orcutt Road, San Luis Obispo moonrise

Hey, I was up through there on Friday. I came up from Long Beach and up to Santa Monica and over the Topanga Pass to Simi Valley.

The route home was a little different. The scenery was just as spectacular!
 Rode with 55 or so others from San Luis Obispo to Pismo Beach on Sunday. Forgot to take photos of the group Pismo Beach  Historic Route marker  Foxen Canyon Road Rancho Sisquoc Winery - just one of many wineries / vineyards along the way.  There are dozens of ranches in this area.  San Marcos Pass - Hwy 154 Lake Cachuma overlook  This is the first peek you get at the Pacific Ocean traveling south on San Marcos Pass. You can barely make out the Channel Islands in the distance.  Santa Barbara Mission  There are no more pics because I (1) had been dawdling all day, (2) was running out of daylight, (3) wanted to get home at a (somewhat) reasonable hour and (4) had about 220 miles left to go. If you're interested, here's the rest of the route: Hwy 192 from Santa Barbara through Montecito (Sycamore Canyon Road, East Valley Road, Toro Canyon Road, Foothill Road) Hwy 150 - Casitas Pass Road Hwy 33 - North Ventura Avenue / Ojai Freeway All of that was beautiful and worthy of pictures. The last +/- 170 miles wasn't: Interstate 101 - 405 - 5 |
