Modern Vespa

I finally got my Vespa back on the road for the season and the weather couldn't have been better. My other vehicles sat parked for 4 days before the rain kept the Vespa off the road. But it's supposed to clear up for the weekend.

I had my Vespa in my condo over the winter and performed a few tasteful modifications to her.

Winter 09/10 mods:

MP3 front wheel/tire (still not sure if I want to get a smaller sized Zippy)
Bitubo front shock
Gold Brembo 4 piston caliper
GTS front hub and rotor
Urethane rear shock bushings
Vespa S solo seat
CRG LS Blindsight mirror
Black Header wrap on exhaust pipe
LED front and rear turnsignals
LED front parking lights
LED Brake/parking light
Zippy rear tire
Black bolts to fill holes from removing rear grab handle
German plate on rear (souvenir from summer trip, I hope Johnny Law doesn't mind)
New Battery

On order:
carb jet (from Scooterworks, to improve takeoff)
stainless steel allen bolts for trans case

Future projects:
Rear bitubo shock
GTS clutch
HID headlight
GTS horncrest
CRG for right side
LED license plate light
stainless steel brake hose
aftermarket exhaust (not sure which)
Clauss studios urethane swingarm bushing
alarm
paint rear wheel to match MP3 wheel (not very noticeable but i'm picky)

Looking good, I like the brake calipers and the new red spring.

My cat looks just the same!!

Does the steering seem less responsive with that 12" wheel? I think I would appreciate the better brakes, but I'd want to go down to a low-aspect ratio 110x12 tire to keep the mass and outside diameter as close to original as possible (if it will work on the rim OK).

The steering response still seems pretty good. I was having some weird handling issues today but it was due to a leaking front tire. New zippy 1 for the front has been ordered. I wanted to match the rear that I bought a month ago anyways so I wasn't too upset. Other than that it handles great. The shock and rear shock bushings make a huge difference too.
