You know, I can't ever remember another time in my life when I payed such close attention to the weather. Even as an occasional gardener, I've only paid attention to general weather trends on the order of days and weeks. Since I've started scootering (and winter has arrived) I find myself checking weather.com incessantly, looking at the hour-by-hour forecast for my area, watching for breaks in the rain. It's gotten to the point that I notice when they revise the forecast and the predicted conditions change.

It's almost enough to make me want to install a wireless weather station.

Dude, yesterday.

I wish weather was more accurate.

I rode up to Novato on the ATL - on the golden gate bridge I nearly wrecked. It was raining, and I was comin' past the pylon closest to the northern shore and a GIANT gust of wind hit me from the southeast as I passed over a wet metal grate. It blew my pitch to about 110 degrees vertically, and threw me into the next lane where a car was no more than 10 feet behind me. I almost spilled and I'm convinced that if I were in the GT I would have been toast cos it's got smaller wheels/wheelbase/weight.

Stupid weather said chance of rain was 30 percent until about 8 or so, at which point it'd be 60 percent, and it'd be rain vs. showers as it was intended to be during the day.

I watch it like a hawk, and often times the predictions are wrong. Be safe during any predictions of inclimate weather. Especially if you have to cross a bridge when it could potentially rain...

Warm but no go
Warm weather here (relatively speaking: 40 degress), but it's too rainy to ride. I'm so bummed. I want a chance to ride in December! Hoping for "January thaw."

The 1 Wire stuff? I have a few of Linksys AP's I've hacked up for 1 Wire Serial ports.

BTW, Snake to Shepherd Canyon is completely repaved, so it is a pretty smooth ride. It has been slick from the leaves and rain though. Weather doesn't look too good today, I've been watching for a riding weather as well.

I should have paid a little more atention to it. ALl I needed to to is through on some wind pants or something for my legs and it would have been dry and warm enough to ride to Christmas dinner.

Hey Jess: Check out this link, NOAA. Have a look at the 'radar' and 'satellite' links. You cannot get any better weather than this stuff, its where all the weather folks get thay're info. You can set it up for anywhere.

Poke in your local airport and give this one a try. As it is it should show the Lorain Regional, so you'll see my unseasonably nice weather...

Wireless weather station
I bought my wife a wireless weather station for xmas a year before I got my GT. I really pay attention to it during riding season, especially the wind speed. wind gusts and temperature. A great aid! With a little experience, I am able to pretty much predict what I'm in for on the local ride.
