Hello there!

Just got my brand new GTS 300 three days ago. It´s new and Im still running in the engine, so far I have been riding the scoot for 80 miles.

My girlfriend is naturally eager to jump on the scoot and ride along with me as a passenger. Could the extra weight cause any problems in the running in process?

Im 187 lbs (85 kilos) and shes 132 lbs (60 kilos)

As I'm a proponent of the 'ride it like you stole it' approach (within reason) I think the extra load will do the engine no harm at all.

If you will be carrying her regularly, be sure the air pressure is up a little to the recommended dual rider amounts.

You should probably bump up the preload on the rear shocks a notch too, for better handling and to avoid them from bottoming out on any bumps. Have fun!

Been there...done that....no problem....enjoy

definitely do bump up the pre-load (position 3) and check tire pressure (increase as needed)

Watch out though - she may decide that she likes riding and "borrow" your shiny new ride.
