Greetings from the noob. What a great site you have here!

Firstly... does anyone know the standard roller weight spec for my GTV125?

Next... the scoot is fitted with a Leo Vince 4Road exhaust and the LV weights which came with it... anyone know the spec for these?

Last... the LV weights are a bit noisy so I want to change them for something equivalent. Transmission is otherwise stock and I want to keep it that way. Has anyone fitted Dr Pulley sliders to a GTS/GTV125?

Thanks for your help! 8)

With all honesty, you are best to fit the standard weights in the 125 4 valve LC engine. It works very well in standard format.

My mech puts the Mallossi roller weights in my GT125, tiny bit lighter (.04g?) and a better quality roller then OEM (according to my mechanic)

Thanks DougL but aren't the LV weights optimised for that exhaust? Sure I've read posts from riders who have upgraded exhausts without changing roller weights with less than satisfactory results. Best, Mark

Thanks GTdespatchcourier - I am guessing you use Malossi 19mm x 17mm x 7.4g then? Is 7.4g the standard roller weight for my scoot? Best, Mark

Changing rollers with exhausts. Never heard that one before. Seriously. If you are using the standard variator, use the standard weights. The GT125 is tuned pretty much as well as it can be, and the LV exhaust will make little difference other than noise and looks.

Thanks DougL but if my understanding is correct...

Performance exhausts generally move peak engine power higher up the rev range and are supplied with lighter roller weights to match the working range of the transmission to the engine speed at peak power?

My scooter is much more lively with the LV exhaust and weights (wish I had weighed them before installing!), it's just a pity they are so noisy.

So... does anyone know the standard roller weight for my scoot?

Best,

Mark

Your understanding is correct with a two stroke. On a four stroke, changing the exhaust makes little difference. Besides, changing roller weights only affects the way the CVT changes gear not the actual gearing.

Some of us have had lots of success and smoothness with a Polini 9 roller variator.

Dr Pulley sliders may make a difference.

Thanks for your perseverance, DougL. I am now a bit clearer on this

It just remains for me to find out what the stock roller weight is. Then I will try something a little lighter, possibly in conjunction with an aftermarket variator

Best,

Mark

Thanks DougL, I have seen this previously and cannot see that the GTV125 (or for that matter GTS125) is listed

Best,

Mark

GT125 = 7g - 19x7 according to Beepdpeed. Will be the same for GTV 125. I think I am using 6.8g Mallossi rollers with stock variator and LV pipe.

Thanks GTdespatchcourier, that's just what I was after! How do you find that setup? Mine is pretty similar. Not sure what the LV rollers weigh but understand it's less than the stock items. Think I will go with the Malossis too

Just got rollers changed, I was running 9.3g Mallossi rollers whick my mechanic prefers over OEM. They are a tiny bit better than OEM.
Because I had holes in my exhaust the last set of 9.3g got flat spots. Changed them for 6.8g Mallossi and it suits the LV pipe much better. Not sure why beedspeed charts read 7g as stock for GT125, anyone know the truth?

haven't tried top-speed yet, but the take-off is great and the bike feels as fast as it used to. I'm not too concerned about top end speed, i rarely get outside the M25.
