Hello.

Giaccomo, from France (nobody is perfect), 50 years old, I write an exotic English like a French does and I'm new on this forum.

After 30 years of motorcycle, I would like now to ride cool and ride a scoot.
For me there is only one scoot ! It is the Vespa and I would like to buy a 300 GTS.

All the reviews says that's a good bike, pleasant and fun to ride.
All I have read here seems to confirm those points.

I suppose that there's here people who were motorcycle enthousiast before and who ride Vespa 300 now.
I would be happy to have your feeling about the transition from bike to Vespa and if you are happy with your choice.

I would like to know if the Vespa 300 GTS is ok for some long trip on small and twisty roads, pleasant and confortable enough to ride.

Thank you !

Hello Giaccomo.

I've ridden motorbikes for the last 10 year and recently changed to a GTS300. I have no regrets about making the swap - I enjoy the Vespa just as much and am using it a lot more than I did the motorbike.

Buy one. You'll love it.

I rode motorcycles for 40 years or so before I switched from a BMW R80 to my Vespa GTS.

I have no regrets, I love the fat little thing. It's a different experience--I find that riding the Vespa is pleasant and relaxing. I don't think I ever relaxed on a motorbike.

It is also more versatile, cleaner and more practical transportation, unless you need to use motorways too often.

P.

PS--I love France. It's ok if you do too.

I was riding a Suzuki Volusia when I got my first Vespa. The next time I got the motorcycle out of the garage was to show it to the guy I sold it to.

I ride the Vespa much more, every day, than I ever rode the motorcycle.

Like the above posters I've been riding bikes for years and then I bought a Gilera Runner 180 and I was converted to scooters.

Much prefer them and the people are much nicer and more attractive.

All GT200 owners are especially attractive.

Are you a fire bomber pilot? As a former pilot I can say that traveling at the "speed of Vespa" is the best way to see the world !! Welcome.

Thank you very much for your answers !

I'm pleased to have your impressions.
Versatility, practical, relaxing...all these points are important for me and that's what I'm looking for, buying a Vespa.

Lostboater : Yes ! I'm a CL 415 pilot in the French "Sécurité Civile".

Without question Alice GT200 owners are very attractive on so many levels.

I'm lucky enough to know a few of them.

I was one once.

Na MP3 owners are just maverick freaks. I'm kidding .
