I've followed a couple of threads on totalruckus.com where on a couple of different occasions individuals start with their ruckus 50 on the east coast and they rode to the west coast. I believe on one occasion the fellow actually started in St. Louis worked his way east, then south, before going west (I believe he started in mid-September, concluded in March).

That about sums it up.

I met a fellow in Chattanooga who rode in from NYC on a 50cc scooter. Many others have gone much further.

Plan carefully to ride on roads you and you scooter will be comfortable with and you can get anywhere...eventually. With my 150cc, staying off the interstates, I estimate the time it takes to make the trip in my car on the highways and double it. That's my rule of thumb. I don't think it would be a whole lot different for a 50cc because both are traveling routes with lower speed limits.

It's part of the fun. 8)

Will be doing cannonball this year on a Ruckus 50 with aaron h. who'll be doing it on a yamaha c3.

sponsored by Battlescooter and MV right now.

longest trip so far was a rally weekend - going to SF to San Luis Obispo, ~650 or 700 miles or something for the weekend. Long rides aren't hard on a 50, they just take... patience. Lots of patience. And some smart routing, definitely smarter than I was when setting up for that ride.
