I took a sick day yesterday and even though under the weather...I can't pass up some free time to work on the scoot. One thing led to another and...I had the entire front headset and glovebox apart.

My clock was still running strong but I hope to NEVER have to disassemble everything like that again so I decided to change my clock battery.

After changing the battery, I looked at the gauge cluster... The needles to the cluster aren't perfectly circlular like a rod. They have some angles and some shape to them. The very top of the needle is flat so...I thought I'd spruce it up a bit.

Here are my "custom" gauge needles. I had to load a big pic so you could actually see it!

As you say, its a real hassle getting in there. But I did it on my GT200 and fitted brighter LEDs for the indicators. One of the best mods I ever did.

Tried to do the same on my GTS, but the LEDs are all surface mounted, and I put it in the "too hard" basket.

I thought of doing that too while I was at it but dont really find the stock lights all that hard to see.

I just love the GT gauge at night all lit up.

Just add this to the list of things I've done to the scoot that nobody will even A. Care B. Notice C. Take the time and effort to do themselves.
