Just trying to compare these two before making my purchase. Also, which one might run hotter at 55MPH +?

Not sure that it makes any sense to compare RPMs of 300 vs 250... As far as heat, same thing. Basically, the 250 and 350 are pretty equivalent. The 300 has a small amount of additional grunt from 0-30, but both are outstanding machines.

I don't think you'll find much difference at 55+ on them for heat. They are both liquid cooled injector engines and will probably run like tops at speed if properly maintained.

Horsepower:
GTS250... 21.7 hp @ 8500
GTS300... 21.19 hp @ 7500

Torque:
GTS250 14.9 lb-ft @ 6500
GTS300 16.45 lb-ft @ 5000

The 300 reaches peak power at lower rpm, and it feels like it turns less rpm per mph. The 300's increase in displacement was created with a larger bore [75mm vs 72mm], and a longer stroke [63mm vs 60mm]. Stroked engines tend to build more heat, but the lower rpm may offset that... somewhat. On a hot day in creeping traffic the 300's fans are used.
