Beautiful pictures. Those look like some amazing roads to travel. Are they always that quiet?

How about posting a map to show where in relation to Seattle these were taken?

There is local traffic from the farms and homes, and motorcyclists travel them, but they are usually quiet.

Then, they wouldn't be quiet anymore.

Washington has some of the best scooter riding anywhere. I've always enjoyed going down there. I haven't made it in a while and I do miss it.

Never done either by scooter, but both Washington and up the Canadian Rockies are marvelous roads and vistas. Mt. St. Helen's is one of the most incredible places I've ever been, but my favorite place, bar none, is the Banff/Lake Louise area. Beautiful vistas in all directions, great hiking trails everywhere.

I've added more images to the slideshow. Round trip from a garage on the east side of Seattle [Bellevue], all these roads can be ridden in one casual day and add about 200 miles to your odometer. They span an area from Fall City to Monroe. Don't be mislead by all the sunshine, we usually get about 240 overcast days per year. The vegitation is green because of the Seattle Rain Festival, September to May.

I have some Portland friends touring the roads in Washington this weekend. They were at Mount St. Helen's today and completely awestruck. The destruction was massive and it's amazing to see it slowly returning, naturally (I'm glad it was decided not to reforest that entire area).

I was very fortunate with weather whenever I visited Seattle. The summer days were beautiful and with only short rain showers on occasion. Winter was gray, with rain, very similar to here much of the winter. I really enjoyed Seattle Sea Fair, watching the Blue Angels fly over Lake Washington and over the city.

Your photos capture much of the beauty I remember in that area and bring up a flood of good memories on my visits. I really do like the PNW.
