Does any one know if there is a difference in motors on the Serie Special vs. the Millennium Vespas? I have one of both and it appears that the Serie Special has ALOT more pick up vs. the Millennium.

The are from two separate countries and don't know if that has something to do with it. The Serie Special is from Austria, not the British version.

Thanks..

I actually don't know but I would guess if the Millennium you are talking about is the serie america that was sold in the US, that is a PX150.

The Serie Special was a was a PX200. They made 400 limited UK only run right??

There was a T5 millennium as well. That is the badass 125cc 5 port dillio.

What millennium do you have? the PX150 that was sold in the US?

Even if they were the same 200cc one may have a different carb/jetting set up. And the US one will probably be the most restrictive.

Specs on the Serie Special are here:

http://www.solidi.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

also it's a sight to find all 400 owners so they may want to hear from you.

cheers

Its not a American PX150. I have one of those. The PX200 I have was actually imported from europe. It looks like Germany but can't be sure.

The Serie Special I have was not the British version, but the Austrian version. Only 1 of 25. At least that is what the plaque says. The colors are the same as the British version, but no Union Jack. It has a Austrian Red white Red flag.

It may be jetted different for the Austrian market. But not sure.

I can post some better ones later. I took these with my phone, so not best quality. As you can see same as the British version. I also have one of the Portofino Green Px 150's american limited edition.

They are tough to come by. My understanding and encounter so far is that the limited edition Canadian models are either:

1. Being collected by collectors and will not sell them or...
2. *Forgive me for this* Crashed and in Vespa Heaven

However, you have PM!

I have a Serie Speciale, from the UK. As I understand it there were a few made for other markets but the UK certainly had 400. (I've seen a Norwegian version for example). The only differencebetween a standard P2 of the time and the SS seems to be the plate attached to the toolbox (i.e. Number 327 or 400 etc etc) and the stickers. You also got a presentation pack with the whole deal.

In the UK there was a T5 Millenium which came in only beige/cream and had a brown seat. As far as I can remember it was a T5 classic derivitive (i.e. had P Range frame but with the 'badass' 5 port T5 motor) and it had a disk brake on the front, which T5's never did as standard.

Thanks for the info!
Seems on mine there is a piece of plastic on the base of the cowl where there isn't on the Millennium. I wonder if the Austrian motors are different from the rest of the EU. It does run a whole lot faster than the other one I have.
I also see that it gives me alot more problems than the millennium. I think I have a Lemon. The clutch stuck and shifting jambed at 29 Km. Its now leaking oil from the reservoir and I need to pull the tank to find out what is going on. Gives me something to do, but I would rather be riding! Hope to get it operational this weekend.

funnily enough I also had a problem with my oil tank very early on .. the sight glass was cracked ever so slightly and it was leaking oil into the frame which then of course dripped out when it was standing. Because teh crack was where the sight glass mated with the tank, I had to pull teh whoel thing out to see what was happening !

on the down side, the tank had to be replaced, but on the up side it meant that my frame didn't rot !

When you pull the tank, do you reach in to disconnect the fuel reserve selector? I know the tank is held in with the seat and two bolts, but just wondering how you can get the fuel reserve tank selector through the body..

the fuel lever just pulls through the body. it stays attached to the tank and you pull up and out at an angle to get it out. you'll figure it out pretty quick once you start pulling gently out.
