Modern Vespa

Hi to Everyone on the forum,
Have been lurking around for sometime now, looking and learning about the new Vespas, and of course falling in love with some of the GREAT photos on here.
Well the good news for me is that i've just bought a New Vespa today and will hopefully be picking it up from the shop on Friday.
She is just waiting for her registration plates and Docs then she's ALL MINE.!!! Yeeaaahhhhhhhhhhh.!!

But as you can guess, i'm really exited to be getting back on two wheels again after so long.
I have owned 2 other Vespas in the past and I really miss them.
My previous scoots were a Vespa T5 in White, way back in 1989-90.
I was also a member of the world famous Scooter Club, The Doset Modrapheniacs at that time too.
I then moved house a couple of times and had to sell up the scoot.
I now live on the sunny island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, which is part of Spain. So loads of GREAT ridin weather.!!! Oh Yeaahhhh.!!
After the first year i got myself another Vespa. This time a New PX125, again in White, i loved it.!!
Unfortunately i sold it about 3 or 4 years ago but it still lives here in Tenerife. I see it every day on my way to work which is GREAT.
Now i have a NEW baby to ride and look after.
This time she's BLACK. ..... Uuummmm NICE.
Will be posting alot of pics on here cos i have alot of mods to do to her and will be busy getting her ready for her maiden voyage.
Anyway, am sure you're all bored with this post now so will close for now and will be posting again real soon.
I must just add though before i go,
What a GREAT & Fantastic site this is.!!! It has been a real pleasure reading everyones post and looking at all the brilliant photos, and i hope to be a part of this forum for many years to come too.!!

Have no fear..... there will be plenty more photos to come of my new scoot and all her mods, as i'm a keen photographer as well, and we have some beautiful scenery here too.
I have a theme in mind, a theme that i've not seen anywhere on here, so i'll give it a go and see how we get on. ( Comments always appriciated )
Plenty of Chrome and bits to go on her too.

It is great to hear your back on a scoot!! Too bad you had to sell the T5, I hear they are really good scoots. Once you start riding around your island, take some scenery pictures for us. Bet the views are great, sounds like a super place to live!!

I'm a new member today. I own a 2007 gts250ie and a 1987 Honda 150 Elite. Previous scoots were a Honda 250 Elite, Vespa p200e, Vespa p125x, and a Honda Gyro. I am a member of the Scarabs SC in Denver and recently moved to Arizona to escape the winter.

Yes i was really sorry to see the T5 go and yes you did hear right,... They are VERY good Scoots. I had mine for about 2 years from New and never had a single days problem with her at all. She still holds a special place in my heart too as she was my 1st Vespa......... Ummmmmm.
Yes i will be taking LOTS of photos of my adventures around the Island and yes you are correct, There ARE some Lovely sights to be seen here too. Tenerife is a Tropical island and we have about 50 weeks of sunshine every year and not alot of rain really except in the winter time.
I will be posting quite a few pics on here so stay tuned.

Sounds like you've had a few scoots yourself and nice to hear you have a Modern Vespa too.
Was in Flagstaff AZ last year for 3 days while on vacation in the US. I LOVED Arizona and would love to live there some day too. Great weather eh.?? Don't blame ya for moving there.!!
If ya get the chance, please post some photos of you and your scoot in lovely Arizona. I'm sure everyone on here would love to see them.

Forget to tell ya in last post that i was in Sacramento last year for a couple of days while i was on vacation in the US. It is a really lovely place.
I was doing a little road trip for nearly 3 weeks in an RV. I started from L.A. then went to Sacramento, then up to the Sierra mountains and followed the old Route 49 from top to bottom, then back to L.A. . It was a real Blast and i loved every minute of it. I would have loved to tackle some of those twists and turns on a scoot though.!!

I know i have lived here for over 10 years but unfortunately my Spainsh isn't very good, i'm sorry.

As for the black instrument panel on my new scoot, i think possibly you would be able to get one direct from a Piaggio dealer maybe.??? I'm not sure but it would be worth a try eh.??

Well i'm HOPING to be picking my new Vespa up from the Shop today. I am getting really exited about it too.!!!!
I got up early and have been waiting for the phone call to let me know shes ready and waiting to come home with me.
Keep ya fingers crossed for me.!!

Hiya All,
Well i finally got my baby.!!! Yeaahhhhh.!!
I picked her up from the shop on Monday and i LOVE HER.!!!
As promised, i have added some new photos showing lil ol me and me New Baby, Plus a few little mods that i just had to put on her straight away.
There are Plenty more mods to go too. Just waiting for them to arrive.
Will post more photos as and when they get here and are fitted to her.
The Mods so far are only small but i like em.
1st are the Italian Reflectors just above the passenger foot rests.
2nd is the cool Checkered Vespa mudflap on the rear.
3rd are the metal GTS tyre valve caps.

I have a set of Chrome Front Badge wings here too. But i have a problem with them, if someone can help, i'd really appriciate it.
The wings don't fit on the horn cover because it has a raised section down the middle of it. The Chrome badge only seems to be made to go flush on the flat horn cover. The Sticky pads that came with the badge aren't thick enough to reach the panel. Any ideas.?? Please help.???

Anyway, since Monday i have clocked up nearly 200Km on her and she is loving every one of them too.
The weather here is hot sunshine, all day, every day so she is really happy, and so am i cos i can get lots of riding done.
Will get some nice arty scenery shots soon too but will wait till she has her first service, don't want to wear her out b4 her time eh.?
I have already taken her on our motorway here and had her up to 60mph with no bother at all, and i know she has a little bit more in her but i'm not gonna push her till she's had her first service.

After owning 2 vespas in the past, I found it REALLY Weird to not have to change gear or use a footbrake too. It is taking a bit of getting used to but i'm nearly there.
