Tonight I received an unsolicited commercial email (UCE/spam) from Vespa of Saint Louis. The email came to from <stevez>. Did anyone else receive this email?

I am concerned about receiving this email because it was delivered to an email address that has only been used for Vespa of Oceanside/San Diego. Is it possible that the database from this now-defunct dealer has been sold to another dealer?

Hoping others can comment.

Anything is possible. Lets wait and see if anyone else responds.

Kind of strange considering the geographics.

Best,
David

I'm assuming it was about the Really Big Sale we're having on Saturday. I'm not there as much as I used to be, so my guess is that VStL just sent an email blast to everyone in their address book.
Steve Z is one of the owners, and a great guy. Just respond back that you want off the email list and they'll do it.
No harm, no foul.

I've never set-up an entirely new e-mail address for a single use with a single vendor....seems unlikely anyone else would, and then use it only once and nowhere else.

Perhaps you used that address elsewhere and forgot about it? A more likely scenario to me.

It DOES seem unlikely that a Vespa dealer in the midwest, would find any commercial value in the client database from a failed Vespa dealer in San Diego Ca.

For me, continued negative references to Vespa Oceanside on MV are becoming tiresome....it's over over there, time to move ahead.

I DID have a long overdue valve adjustment and sparkplug change done by Steve formerly of Vespa Oceanside today, and it was fast, reasonably priced and done while I waited so I guess thats a step forward in this area.

How long did you wait? The engine needs to be stone cold for a proper valve adjustment.

It took about 2 minutes to get it off the truck....

I was happy to receive that email... a sale is a sale and the parts list was laid out perfectly. I bought some product from them in the past and they had my email address so for me it was not spam but a well intended email to inform a customer that likes to save some bucks..

Mystery explained...

The comment of touch up paint reminded me that I had asked about paint a year or so ago. The sales guy over at Vespa of San Diego had forwarded my request over to Jeff at St. Louis. This is how my contact information made it into their database.

I talked to them about touch up paint too. So I'm in their database.

I got the email. I can easily use the delete key.
