Modern Vespa

It may not seem epic to most, but it was for me. I've been waiting to get a Vespa for over six years, now, and I finally took the plunge! My LX 150 arrived last night! I studied up on the manual and took it out on the streets this morning.

At first, I thought I'd just be taking it around the block a time or two to get used to the feel and handling (I'd never ridden a motorcycle or scooter in my life!), but I soon threw that idea out the window. It was so smooth and easy to balance and maneuver! So I took about a four-mile round trip tour of my neighborhood. I even rode over to my mom's house to show off. :]

I really had so much fun in the short amount of time I spent on the 150 this morning. There is next to no learning curve (except getting the scoot off the center stand...) and it was such a joyous and pleasant experience. And it was certainly nice to have some wind blowing on me on this hot, muggy Oklahoma day!

I can't wait to get back out there later on today...but now I have to go help set up a dinosaur skeleton. Today is a day of adventures!

Yay for you!! Congratulations and welcome! I remember when I rode my scooter for the very first time too, it was exhilirating!! I don't think I wiped the smile off my face for the rest of the day

That is great...I was terrified the day I bought my LX150. Within a few days I was hooked! I ride everyday to work, the cage (4 door sedan) never gets out of the carport anymore. poor thing ;(

I too am hooked. I put on just over 1300 miles in 21 days and I work at home...so they are all "fun" miles. Last time I took the car, I had to remove the spider webs.

I still remember my first day of riding and I thought the same thing as you....it was so easy and fun!

My first scooter was a et4 and it took me everywhere. Please buy a riding
jacket, boots about the ankles, gloves and a full face helmet to be safe,
most of all ride within your comfort zone. Welcome new rider*
