Went on a nice 351 mile ride today but just could not get my head into the twisties. Was still a great ride, just took it easier.

Here's some photos from the loop. Had company for the first part up to clearlake, then I split off to make a loop back to SF.

Nice riding with you this morning, Patrick. Vinicio and I soldiered on through the heat and were rewarded with 100 miles of perfectly-paved sweepers through the Northern Sierras. The road had an unreal rhythm to it -- fairly predictable but still very challenging turns and very, very fast -- almost WOT on the MP3 500 the whole way, very well banked, absolutely clean and with no traffic whatsoever. We couldn't believe our luck. It just went on and on forever.
Then there was the slog down the hill to Red Bluff in 100 degree heat. Not so much fun. Tomorrow is 136 miles of twisties on Hwy 36, though, which I'm very much looking forward to. (Oh, and sorry to hijack your thread ) |

Scooter Melee? Thread Hijacking??
Here is the '64 ChickenHawk on Hwy 36 two weeks ago (Moto Melee XIII) with a blown motor. Gotta love the grade up to the Wrightwood store. I think that is where Oops seized 2 years ago. ![]() Poor Me. Sad Forever.

350 miles? Fuck. That's a long way. Pics are awesome though Patrick. Were some of those roads goat tracks?

what'd you think of the first half of 36?
That's where I toasted my clutch on the UnStealth. |

Great Sunday ride. The weather a bit toasty at times, then back to good ole SF fog once we reached Mill Valley.
Hey, Vinicio. If you're reading this you cut off the Harley on 101 when you were standing on your pegs. He was lane splitting and was about to pass till you drifted to your right. It was only a cruiser, so acceptable move. |
