Modern Vespa

During my trip to Florida I came across a like new Black leather Piaggio Roll Top bag, the only problem is that my LXV has a brown split leather seat and I think this would be a major color clash, I was wondering if anyone has put a black split seat on a Portofino green scooter or recovered their brown LXV seat in black leather and can share a photo with me. I am between the the idea of recovering my LXV seat or simply selling the bag and preying that I can come across a brown one in fantastic condition.

Knight Train has a 300 he repainted after an accident and the green with the black seat looks sharp! His repainted scooter is a bit passed halfway in the thread below.

Haha, my thoughts too! I was thinking it was a 1958 Vespa GS VS4 still in the crate in some climate-controlled warehouse in Indiana...

But even so, the roll bags look good, and personally I think a black seat would look fantastic with the bag on the Portofino Green LXV. Talk to Pirate Upholstery in NY if you want to go that route, I'm sure they'll be able to make whatever kind of seat cover you want, whether you want it to look just like the original, or if you want to customize it with a different design, or change the shape, or add gel pads or whatever. They even have waterproof leather as one option! I can personally vouch for the fact that they do excellent work, they did an awesome job recovering the seat and backrest for my P200 just like I wanted it.

I was going to guess a fully functioning Ape. I am suprised someone here didn't contact them and buy the one the American Picker guys found.

I have the same fantasy's about WWII Willy's Jeeps or War era Harley Davidsons crated in cosmoline. I guess we could go on and on with stories about Vespa barn finds and such. That's what keeps the world interesting.
Since it is rare, I think a Black Vespa Roll Bag would qualify.

DRKAHN i've got the brown one and they are definitely harder to find. Keep looking. Got mine off Ebay.I didn't pay top dollar but man those bags are expensive Yeah i realize they are not made anymore but geez.

I have one of these "grails" and absolutely love it. It seems to hold so much more than the topcase on my LX.
