Modern Vespa

I am very happy I got this bike first off... the cowls are in actually really good shape... the engine kicks over and runs VERY well... The guy gave me TONS of extras too!!!!! I have 4 brand new Michelin tires. Rear Rack w/ tire carrier.. Brand new clutch... tons of gear oil/ 2 stroke motul, and many other things... Got it home at 530 and went to WORK on this thing..!!! within 2 hours i had the engine and whole rear dropped and i was beginning to clean up..!! I have to admit I really enjoyed doing this..!!!! It taught me alot..!!! And I had alot of fun doing this..!!

if your throwing that frame get the brake pedal and seat catch stud first

Its actually on the sidewalk mate but thanks..!! Garages are hard to come by in SF when your renting..!!

Wish I had some inner panels off that junk frame, I need the part that the rear shock mounts to and the panel that is directly in front of the rear tire..

I ended up getting it for 275

can i ask ... what the fuck happened to it and also how the fuck was the engine not flattened

He hit a taxi who ran a red light... He was doing around 30mph... I feel bad for the guy he had 6 broken ribs and a collapsed lung...

Thanks guys he just wanted to get rid of the bike said it brought up memories. so we were both happy with the deal... He knew he coulda sold it for more but he just wanted it gone

Its a roll of the dice every time you get out there and ride.That poor guy must have got the fear of God drilled into him. Looks to be a really bad wreak.

As far as that Rally goes its a gold mine in parts. Take everything off it. Hopefully someone who really can use the parts will find what they are looking for.The Engine if its all there has to be $1500.

Nice find...No bad about the sidewalk show..Here in Mass. we couldn't get away with that..EVERYTHING is Illegal.

I think everyone in SF is too stoned to notice activities as such. It really takes a wambuzzi to get peoples attention around here...

No not yet I'm getting a buddy to come over and help me find the problem I really am horrible with electrics I need someone to show me first hand

I work with what I got..!! ... or sneak into the garage... figured the landlord would hate both of them so i picked the one with the fewer consequences ahhaah

I do so much work on the sidewalk. Like Dominic said, you work with what you got. Most of us inner city folk don't have garages or much space in our apartments.

i paid my dues... 15yrs of rebuilding motors for 12 packs and doing suspension jobs in my driveway have made me soft.

Hahah It's also a really good place to meet people too!!! I have met so many people by them coming up to me asking what year is that blah blah blah... I prefer the sidewalk over the garage... On nice warm days hahah

same wise mate, i even paint my vespa in front of my house right in the street where some people salute me and other feel distrube by me

Loved the pavement workshop picture - took me back a bit to the time where it didn't bother me one tiny bit to get under the car to swap the cracked sump out - 2 in the morning, at the kerbside, in the pouring Welsh rain

There was a bit of light from a streetlamp (above the car) an occasional glow of cigarette, and did the rest of it by feel.
