I'm a Vespa newbie and know nothing about vintage Vespas, but I've read many MV threads about bodges.

So I went to the grocery shop today and saw a vintage Vespa parked outside. "That's pretty," I thought. Then I looked again.

Gleaming new two-tone paint (white and beige)

Fancy upholstery

Lots of chrome

Piaggio badges in unusual places, such as the sides of the leg shields.

I didn't notice whether it had yellow boots....

Bodge? I'm no expert, but I wouldn't buy that scooter without asking a Vespa expert to take a critical look at it. At least, thanks to those MV threads, I know that bodges exist, that they are extremely dangerous and a waste of money.

Some people have commented that the bodge threads are monotonous, and I can undestand why. But the threads are helpful to newbies like me: fore-warned is fore-armed. So, thanks to people who have the patience and expertise to identify bodges. You're doing a good thing.
