Hi all its been a long time coming but heres my ET4 pre leader 1997 i'll let the pictures tell the rest





















mods: yz125 silencer, whitewalls, re trimmed seat, chrome mirrors, braided front brake line, clear repeaters

still to come, new engine, paint exhaust, stand and levers

Always nice to see an ET4 being customised. 8)

It was gold when i got it, had all the wheels and rack re powedercoated, the colours are Mk1 ford lotus cortina colours, ermine white and sherwood green

i don't normally like two tone, but i agree with Silver Streak - that's very classy the brown seat and the mirrors are perfect - there's no way you could put the stock plastic mouse ears on that

not bad for 13 years old shame ive just blown the motor on the M6,

I REALLY like your design and color choices but you really need a black seat to finish it.

NO the brown seat looks great!

Brown Grips would tie things together nicely. Maybe a brown floormat, if there's such a thing available, but maybe that's overkill. Great color selection very subtle and not overdone like the Vespa S college. whitewalls are perfect for the bike as well.

the grips ive got are heated so it was black or nothing,

yeah the M6 is a highway, was a warm day but the cooling isnt brill on an et4 i would say

well pull up an old topic but ive finally rebuilt my zip engine after trial fitting it,
just waiting on the stand and casing from the powdercoaters then fit time, also got a new swing arm mount whilst it was out so handling should improve,

well ive still not put the engine back in, however my insurance is only 60 quid a year these days

Nicely done - that's one of the nicest resprays/colour swaps I've seen on an ET, uses the lines well and the green/cream is really retro. 8)

Levi 78 - I got some mirrors like these for my ET from ebay for about £13. Thought the price might be too good to be true but they've been fine, a straight swap out, but I needed to use a little PVA wood glue (dries clear) to hold the rubber boots to the headset, as they were vibrating around like disco dancers at first!

Good tip beret although I like my disco dancers!!

Oh yeah! No wonder I said it felt retro

I really like the Cortinas, sadly too few left around

digging up my old topic well after having the engine in and out twice since blowing it im just now suffering with a fuelling problem on the thing, when i open the throttle anymore than 20% the bike cuts out,

i do have an open air filter and the breather is just left open to the atmosphere atm
can anyone shed some light on the subject.........

the tyres came from ebay there schwable weathermans, the exhaust is a silencer froma 2 stroke yamaha yz125 welded onto the standard et4 downpipe

Is it loud Lee?

its louder than standard definatly but bare able even on long journeys
it was all a guess before i did it and im happy with the end result!

I love the brown seat. Gives it a European look. Great contrast. Changing the seat to black would ruin the great look.

Love it, I've had one a couple of years for my wife, she saw the pictures yesterday and wants hers to look the same, now i have a scooter in bits and looking for someone to do the respray, love the lotus green.

It's a nice green color
I see mostly ET 4 in my country pick that green color.
