I'm buying a used vespa tomorrow; my first.

It's a 2006 GTS 250ie with about 7k miles on it. All seems to be in good condition. I had the bloke ride it around a bit and such. The only issue apparent is a small dent and some scratches on the left cowl. He tells me it was knocked over in a parking lot. It's fairly small, maybe golfball sized. I couldn't find brake lever or mirror damage, so they may have been replaced. The buy that has it is selling for a female friend, so didn't have much more information beyond that.

The title and vin seem to be clean.

My question: where in Portland can I take this to be fixed? Suggestions? I'd also like suggestions for a good mechanic. I'll most likely take it in for a checkup after purchase.

Thanks!

Reference...
For reference, the dent and scratch is a lot like the one seen on the green bike here: My brand new Vespa got all scraped up today and I need HELP. (Post 974683)

Vespa of Portland is an entirely reliable shop for mechanical work. You might seek their recommendation for body work.

As for the body work, what you want is a good auto body shop. But the thing to ask around about is who does good paint work. Anyone who would take on the job would fill the dents with Bondo, etc. and then sand and repaint it.

I've got a guy in the shop next to mine here in Eugene (I'm not suggesting you bring it down here) who does mostly minor, scratch and dent, repairs for car dealers and word of mouth customers. What makes him better than his competitors is his ability to color match and repaint to where you would never suspect the car has ever been damaged. Anyone can do the minor body work but it's the painting that makes the difference.

894 rosso dragon. You can get it at most dealers or Motorsport scooter who usually has everything one would need. Good luck
