Modern Vespa

Just wondering if or where the NJ scooter people ride

I ride in NJ. A bunch of us (the NJ branch of the NY Scooter Club) meet on Thursday nights at a place called Cafe Lu on Washington Ave in Nutley. It is a little outdoor Italian Cafe. Some nights there are only a few of us, and other nights there are scooters all over the place. Lately, the Ducati riders have been meeting up there too. We all seem to get along though, so it's cool.

Yeah, it's a great bike. Mine is completely modded out. All the chrome has been replaced with brass, bronze and copper that I antiqued, myself. I chopped the fender and did a bunch of other stuff to it too.

Thanks. I wanted to have a Vespa seat made like that, but the leather guy told me the Vespa seat is way too soft for this kind of leather.

now i live in the piney's of southern NJ...some gorgeous little rides out there!

NYer M-F Asbury Park weekends and all summer.

Spent nearly a quarter of a century riding around Union County, around Summit, everything from mopeds to crotch rockets. Used to work in Totowa for a military contractor. I bought my first moped (a motobecane!) from some dude in Nutley & threw it in the back of the ol' station wagon. The scooter scene was pretty slim those days. Back then, it was still mostly white trash & guidos who'd scream "fag!" out the window of their IROC Z. Nice. There were little oases of subcultures to be found here 'n there. For instance, you might randomly stumble on venue that happens to have a fierce line-dancing following...or some goth hangout. But for the most part, it was pretty slim variations of homogeneity back then. I always think pretty fondly of my time in Jersey.

I recall my time in New Jersey fondly. Born there (Passaic), grew up there (High School in Clifton and college at Richard Stockton (Pomona).

Moved away in 1980 to go to law school. Have only been back twice since 1982. Haven't been since 1986.

Lots of memories. Most great, some good, a few bad.

I'll go back someday.

Maybe you NJ ridaz can get pics with Pagans, but with the secure knowing that Gambinos and Genovese fams support that 1%er club.

OK, I quit now, but true story, google it, LOLOL.

Pagans were just here in Asbury Park on Saturday for a tattoo festival. Kids, grandmas, etc were taking pictures with them. The Pagans were glad to pose.

I'm sure they were.
I am digging the steam-punk look of that chopper a few posts up BTW. Last rally I actually took time to complement and admire some customs. Kudos on the uniqueness.
