Movies (when I don't walk), cafes (especially by the harbour or beach), shopping (takes enough for a week), galleries (free scooter parking), yum cha (more free parking), my favourite harbourside spots (takes my espresso kit) ... everything bar my wee one (too young for scoot), bulky stuff and my sea kayaks.
Even though I got my scoot for easy city mobility (over my truck and mototcycle) I'm just blown away by how much the ease (and fun factor!) have changed how I get about, and how often I'll just hop on an scoot off. A tank of diesel in my truck now lasts over a month (instead of a week)! (but all my highway / country riding is on my roadbike .. 1170cc + superb suspension & brakes + full luggage > 244cc + OK suspension & brakes + OK storage ) |

I ride everywhere around town. From the last snow to the first snow of the year, I drive my scooter everywhere unless I am taking the mutt to the beach or the dog park.

Then for a morning out I might head along the coast south, or along the river run. Occasionally I'll go for a ride through the suburbs where I grew up. usually if I have chores to do I'll take a quick ride on the scooter first meaning I return energised & inspired to do whatever needs to be done. It's a good life we live This year I'm intending to get back into swimming & sorkelling at the beach so will be taking the scooter along. |

We ride outside of town primarily on back roads. There are several 30-50 mile loops that we've taken and we're planning many more. I've discovered more of this area over the past month than in the previous five years.
I've also discovered that there are no longer any quick errands. If we need some milk I'll run down to the store that's half a mile away, but end up taking a roundabout 5-mile way getting home. |

I'm always looking for an excuse to ride around town. I ride to work, to lunch, and back to work every day. A short jaunt but so much cheaper and a lot more fun than driving my truck although the air conditioning isn't as good.
I've got a GTV 250 so I ride the highways to the big city too. |

I ride one of my scooters everywhere. Store,dr's etc. Very rarely use the car. I'll admit to not liking to ride in the rain especially the tropical downpours. So i do use my car a bit more in the winter. However i'm usually off island a good portion of it so it seems like i ride it more.

I use my scoot for everything possible. To the market, hardware store, visit the GF, commute to work, visit family, downtown for dinner/events/etc, my scooter has replaced my car on all aspects imaginable.
I fuel my car once a month or more -rather than twice a week. And only use the car when the weather is bad or need to haul something that doesn't fit on the Vespa. |

Same here. I only put 35 miles on my truck in April and just over 50 miles in May. Same for June.

I ESPECIALLY use my scoot around town. If there is a lot of highway driving, I often take the motorcycle, but in town and for commuting to work, I always choose the Vespa.

Re: Brutal Hawaiian winters -- it does get miserable here when the mercury dips into the high 60s and people put the tops up on their convertibles. Some even resort to wearing socks to protect them from the twin heartbreaks of frost bite and sun burn
My car has been sitting in the garage for the last two years, only coming out for tailgating at UH football games and trips to the store for large objects, such as sheets of plywood, 30-packs of Diet Pepsi and flat-panel TV sets. Otherwise, I'm on the Vespa. It's amazing how many bags of groceries you can hang on the bag hook and pack in the top case and pet warmer. I haven't met anyone else riding a scooter to the golf course wearing a carry-bag of clubs slung across the back seat -- but I do that, too. For freeway travel, I recently picked up a Triumph Bonneville, but for almost everything else, I scoot. |

I like to use my scooter to go anywhere I can ride the scooter. I have not been able to ride due an exhaust problem and and a CVT belt issue but I did make an 800+ mile weekend trip in March and I am planning another shorter trip this month.
I normally commute everyday I can on the scoot and have been taking my daughter to her school on the scoot. It's a 1 mile, less than 25 MPH ride to her school and she has her own helmet. She's 7 years old. |

I wish had a beach to cruise to, but here in western PA no such luck. Being that I am still new to riding, I usually do not bring it to work but instead when I'm off I ride along the country roads practicing and enjoying the scenery (surprising what you notice on two wheels instead of four).

I take mine pretty much everywhere. Groceries, errands, liquor store, etc.
My wife and I usually do our weekly date night on the scooter as well, which usually involves dinner downtown, movies, art institute, sox game, etc. Last week was dinner in the burbs then Inception. |

Since we have a variety of scooters from Buddy 125, Vespa GTS 250, BV 500 I ride just about anywhere though I prefer not to ride in heavy rain (so much so I'll wait it out if on the road or take a car if I haven't left yet).
I've ridden in-town, to the beach, on the freeway and from Texas to Colorado on the bigger ones. |

around town
I ride my bicycle around town for exercise, commute to the job on the scoot, and run errands on the scoot. I am the HS golf coach, so I ride up to the course frequently as well. My '09 Tacoma chills in the garage most of the time.
