I've been hunting high and low for good-looking decals and so far i've been really disappointed with the selection on motorbike/scooter decal websites... i don't want ugly fonts, roses, badly drawn animals, or flags. and i'm no artist myself so i can't custom make one!

BUT, i decided to try out Etsy, and think i've hit the jackpot (and I thought I'd share)! Lots of amazing illustrators have shops there, some of the vinyl decals are for macbooks and walls, but i'm guessing they ought to work on our scooters too? (anyone knows if they will leave marks behind?) many are guaranteed 5 years outdoors, just like the motorbike decals.

Guys here might like this store: http://www.etsy.com/shop/shortsleevealliance?section_id=5802350
They have star wars themes :p

I might go for totoro! http://www.etsy.com/listing/52909992/totoro-vinyl-sticker-for-laptops-big-set?ref=v1_other_2&show_panel=true

Any adhesive residue is easily removed with mild solvent like isopropyl alcohol, or products like WD40 or "Goo Gone." Very long term(years) might get paint fade to the point where pattern of sticker would be visible as darker(unfaded) paint but by then probably won't care.

If you are looking for retro, scooter-related stickers, you might try scooterproducts.com. I love stickers, and I have had a lot of luck with them. Cool unique stuff, and delivery is really fast.

As for "sticking" the stickers, I like to change my stickers around and I am also concerned about damaging the paint finish on my bike. So, I attach my stickers to thin magnet sheets that you can get from any craft shop, and then place them on the bike. They never come off while riding, and I love being able to move them around. For the non-metal parts of the bike, I have even attached the stickers to a product called "stickershield" (made originally for vehicle stickers) which makes the stickers moveable/removeable as if they were post-it notes.

lumox thanks for the tip about sticker shields and magnets, i'll keep a lookout for those! have not seen them yet, and can't figure out how to explain it in german to shopkeepers, but i'm sure they're around somewhere

the scooterproducts.com stickers are not really my style, a bit too "scooter traditional", whereas i want something cute! i also wouldn't mind putting stripes, but it seems like everyone has stripes!!

Any decent image on the internet can be saved to a flash drive and taken to a good vinyl decal/sign shop and scanned into a computer and made to order. They can change the size, color etc.. You bring it in and they can make it.

That is how I had the Adidas decals made for my 300. I had them do a bunch for me and they were all only like $25 USA

+1 They normally will do parking signs too in aluminum. I got my "Vespa Parking Only" sign done by a shop here in town for $ 8.50 US.
