Just wondering if anybody has tried the K&N Air Filter Oil on their Vespa foam air filter? I know the can says it is for the pleated filters, but seems like the right stuff for the job. The ScooterWest product is back ordered.

Thanks.

look for a foam air filter oil from , Belray, Motul, Uni, Twin air, and such . Those products are designed to be used in foam air filter applications. Dirt bike shops normally stock those products and they work very well in trapping fine dust particals.

Thanks for the quick replies. The K&N may not provide the protection that the Vespa foam filter requires.

I'll try to find a m/c or dirt bike supply place.

Last question: Will the product I'm about to buy (foam air filter spray oil) need to be mixed with gasoline or does the spray have it all?

If you buy a spray (like fab 1), it has all you need.

If you buy foam filter oil, it may (or may not) have to be mixed with gasoline. Depends on the product. If you need to mix with gasoline, make sure it is 91 octane, or it will negatively impact the blinker fluid viscosity.

Just kidding. Any octane will do.

BTW, lubrication is not what you are applying to the foam filter. You want to make it sticky.
