Modern Vespa

I know I don't often post on here, however I do enjoy the camaraderie and close knit community that exists here.

All to often posts are made about serious injuries and deaths of members of the scootering world, and I am always amazed by the amount of support from everyone, and although I may not reply on such threads I do always try to read and always spare a sympathizing thought for the lost and their families.

Recently a young teenager from my village was killed in a scooter collision at the age of 16. I wasn't particularly close with him but I did know that you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer guy, I was also surprised at how much it affected me, while I didn't see him regularly, when I did we'd always stop for a chat and it was in a way heartbreaking to know that I'd never see him again.

I somehow felt it appropriate to share the news everyone on here, as I know his family could really do with all the thoughts and prayers they can get at this most difficult moment in time.

Lost of anything that is part of our community affects everyone...you may not have know this young man...but the mere fact that he was part of your "world" does affect us. Sometimes it doesn't hit us right away and then after some thought...the reality sinks in...that person is gone...life is fleeting and does affect everyone in some way...

That is so sad. It would be tragic if it involved anyone, but especially so with someone so young. My deepest condolences.

I was also troubled to read about that poor scientist from Lancaster Gardens who apparently faced child molestation charges in retaliation for bringing whistle-blowing charges against hospitals. The jury took less than an hour to find him not guilty. Obviously, it's hard to know the details, but it's disturbing as an attorney to read that state officials bring child molestation charges against somebody for blowing the whistle on hospital/medical fraud and corruption.

Again, Newcastle, best thoughts, prayers and wishes to all concerned.

Totally sad and please tell his family that the gang here in Hawaii sends their condolences. way to young. Lost my cousin at 17 (we were the same age) in a car accident. Far to young but any death is to young IMHO.

Being a parent and losing a child must be one of the most horrible experiences in a mother or fathers life. My heart goes out to them. No parent should have to bury a child! How sad....
