Hello all, I am considering buying this scooter (from 2nd owner) - looking for feedback, i.e., anything wrong with this pic (claims, and seems to be mostly original) and going prices for strong running scoot in fair/good condition (some minor rust/dents/scratches, speedo/odo cable broken, hi/lo headlight switch broken). Sorry, I am awaiting add'l, larger pics...but wanted to solicit opinions. Thanks!

what's the asking price? I'd say it's worth about 2k. There's a good chance it's going to need an engine rebuild, if it hasn't been touched lately.
it looks pretty original to me. I have a 74 Sprint V, and it looks pretty similar to mine. They don't make those cowl bars anymore. |

You need to have a look under the floor mat for rust/rot. Also under the floor pan and around by the legshields where they curve near the mud guard. Also find out how much new oil seals are to to fit them if you can't do it. parts are pretty easy to get so no problem there. In UK a Sprint V would cost arounf £1500-2000 depending on condition. A guy at work just bought one for £800 in bits that I put together for him, he had it powder coated and had new loom, runners, rubbers, tyres, suspension, cables etc, probably spent another £600. He now has to get it registered and MOT'ed, which is probably another couple of hundred. So it cost him about £1600, but no labour charge as I did it all as a favour over a few weekends

This scooter does have a European speedo (kmh). No battery/no ignition key. No turn signals. It's clearly not one of the eBay shiny specials, but I want to be sure I can get parts when I need them. Awaiting more input...and any advise on what else to look for when I go see it in the steel. Thanks all!

bike looks mostly straight to me, floorboards raising yellow flags though. more than likely OK though, if so just it would just need a little TLC and you would have an awesome bike. I'm looking for a rally to add to the heard myself. guy around here has two up for good $, but want more of a project... i'm a cheap bastard
