Modern Vespa

hi Vesparazzi (sp?)

I am a total newb but love the look the vespas, so much I bought one, a used 2007 GTS 250!!! I got it from craigslist. it seems very powerful.it is black with the tannic seat and a few scratches on the side parts.

I plan on getting my motorcycle endorsement (they make you here) and some protective gear, helmet. pants, and gloves. does any one wear chaps? (; kidding!

is ther any one in new mexico who (santa fe area) wnats to hang out? ride? teach me the ups and downs of the vespa lifestyle?

Welcome, from the 'Piaggion' side of the family.

Nice choice for your first scooter, so many people go for the smaller sizes and then after a few months decide to move to bigger scoots.

The safety course is always recommended here -- even if it is not required. Can't recall too many riders from NM but, I'm sure there are some here

Welcome and congrats! There are a few folk from Alb/SF on here but you'll find lots of great people from all over the world who are mostly pretty darned cool... There is a somewhat active 'vintage-y' scooter scene in Albuquerque (the NM Pharaohs) and they are hosting Camp Scoot sometime soon. It might be worth it to check it out.

Cruise around the site and you will learn more in a week (don't ask how I know ) than some riders do in a decade. The ride to Albuquerque on N14 is a sweet one for a scooter, so if you are ever in town, look some of us up!

Aloha and welcome to the forum. Congrats on the new scooter. Have some friends who live in Santa Fe but haven't emaiked them in a while so i don't know if they still ride. They left the MV a few years ago. Good luck and ride safe.
