The engine is a Honda GY6 knock off - very well respected engine design with tons of parts readily available as well as lots of good information on repairing, tuning etc. I wouldn't have any qualms about the engine and CVT. Plastic body.... it will be light and won't dent like a Vespa... I haven't seen one in person but from the pics I think they look great. If they were available in Canada and I was looking for that size of scooter I'd definitely give them a good look.

I have seen one in the plastic flesh. From a distance it looks okay. Close up, it looks a bit wobbly. Not very solid. Very light as I could lift it without much effort. They are also built for midgets - you are going to look like a bear on a tricycle if you are above 5 foot 6!
That said, they don't look worse than a similarly priced scooter from any other manufacturer - at a cost of £1300 it seems okay. I would expect it to disintergrate over the course of a couple of years. So a cautious thumbs up if you want the look. |

Well,
for me Vespa is a Vespa. everything aimed at looking like a Vespa is a fake. this includes Habanas, Vinos, Syms, Hondas and so on. I'd never ride anything looking like a vespa. You either get a modern scooter or a Vespa. not a piece of plastic made to fool people from a distance. Vespa is more than a commuter and cannot be substituted with anything other than a Vespa. no offence to anyone, i just dont like it;) |

Plus considering the modern series of bikes is often considered not "looking like a real Vespa" (e.g. GS, SS, Rally, etc), one could say that things like the LX are fake. No offense, just sayin'. |
