I have been having problems with the front suspension locking mechanism for a while. Everytime I have been coming down from a bump in the road, or I accelerate a bit harder the front suspension warning light lights up and the engine goes down to idle. It stays like this for a few seconds and then I can drive again.

I suspect there is some kind of sensor in the front suspension that have become faulty. So I booked a service with my vespashop.

The last few days the problem have become much worse, so that I can no longer drive it at all, which means I canĀ“t drive it to the shop.

I have heard there is a way to disable the whole locking system which would enable me to drive it to the shop. Do any of you experts know how to do this?

just have the shop come and get it would be the easiest thing to do and not diable anything so the shop can do a proper diagonists on it and find the fault.

It does sound like a broken speed sensor wire down below the front calipers. Just look up under the insdie of the front tires and see if you can spot a wire hanging down. if so an easy fix for your self just solder them back together.

My red locking light comes on when I am paddling backwards and I have also lost power whilst riding; once completely and I came to a stop, but a few times it has only been for a split second. My dealer contacted Piaggio and they suggest it is the sensor under the seat that is intermittently faulty - they are sending me a new seat. Time will tell if that works. It may be worth your dealer considering looking at the seat sensor to see if it is at fault.

If they leave you with the old seat, I can make you an offer, I have a project in mind and need a spare seat frame to work on.

I doubt they will let me have it Fay as it is a warranty issue and they usually require the duff parts back - but, if they do let me keep it I will get back to you. Joyce
