I know Vespa is constantly tweaking it's U.S. line, but what exactly is the difference between the new 2010 GTS 300 and the new 2010 GTS 300 Super? I gather both are "i.e." models. The Supers have stiffer Black seats, analog displays, and front red shocks. Beyond that, are there any other differences? Finally, any word yet on what the 2011 300 Supers will look like?

The Super has the vents on the side cowl, black polished aluminum wheels, regular type material vinly seat and is well, Super !
The regular 300 has gray wheels, luggage rack. weird vinly seat and is well, Regular. Other than cosmetic differences they are pretty much the same. |

All of them have ANALOGUE gauges. Digital has been dropped. Also dropped on the new European 250ie.

For less money for the GTS 300 Non Super,
You get a free rear rack and a horn light. Amazing deal if you ask me. |

[I traded the tan seat on my 300 for the black seat on a 300 super when I bought the non-super. Someone who had purchased the super asked the dealer to look out for an unwanted tan seat. Win-win. I needed the luggage rack so was more than happy to pay less for more.[/quote]
Cricket, too funny. I'm the guy your "dealer" was probably talking about. Was it the SF dealer? I was looking for a new Black Super with the beige GTS seat. As it turned out, I ultimately bought the Super from the dealer across the Bay. Our SF dealer friend was very helpful, but everytime I went to pick the damn thing up, there was something wrong with it (reflectors hanging off side, steering column out of alignment, etc.). I had probably gone to the SF dealer five times trying to take delivery on that Super. The final straw came when I went there and the salesperson said he was leaving, and told me to work with the other salesperson. That person demanded I complete a bunch of new paperwork, credit card information and deposit before allowing me to test drive the Super I was there to take delivery on (and for which I was paying cash). I had already purchased my first Vespa there, and they already had all my paperwork. As I watched my regular salesperson walk away, I looked over at her and simply walked out. Believe me, I'm no diva, but enough was enough. I called up the other dealer and had a brand new Super delivered to me the following morning. Anyway, hope you enjoy your 300. Love mine. |

I got my GTS 300 from Rockridge Two Wheels. I bought my first scooter in 2006 from SF and although they gave me a great price for it, I didn't care for their sales people.
My new 300 also had a reflector hanging off the back but that seemed to be the only flaw. I'm loving it, especially the rear rack, which just brought home 44 lbs of dog kibble. |

Looks like they went back to the 200 gt cluster. I like my trip meter and tach. The Super should have a tach and all Vespas should have a trip meter.

The seat from the GTS 300 Super that I ended up with is much firmer than the one on my GTS 250.
The reason I switched wasn't because of the fabric - I just don't like tan. Besides, with my cats jumping on and off the seat all the time, I hate to think what colour it would be after a couple of weeks. |

I bought the GTS 300 Super seat for my GTS 250,
And it is true though that it is a lot firmer than the GTS 250 seat. I like the way I can take curves in the road faster with the firmer seat. My old GTS 250 seat was just too soft and I felt unsteady on some off ramp curves. |

I just bought a VESPA GTS 300 and for some reason it feels very hot when riding. I feel heat coming from the seat and handles. Do you experience that with yours? My old LX 150 didn't feel that way. I'm guessing it's the bigger, powerful engine... or is it defective? Did you have that issue?

Couple things that didn't get mentioned were the super's sportier suspension and two tone wheels.
I have the super suspension on my GT-200 and it's pretty bad ass. While it doesn't have the snappy response of the 300, it was a good way for me to get that sporty but not too harsh ride. |
