First of all I want to say I'm new to Vespa again. About forty five years ago I had one. Now I just purchased a new Portofino Green150LXV and love it. I ride every day and about every other morning I smell gas in the garage and the small oil bubble on the air filter is full of gas. Usually about 2oz. and the scooter is flooded. I talked to the dealer who has no answer but said he would check with Piaggio. If anyone has had a similar problem or suggestions I could use the help. Also I haven't filled or overflown the gas tank.
Thanks
Dave

Hey DAT

Don't know enough to help with the gas problem, but just to say hi, and welcome back to Vespa

What did you have "back in the day" ? How are you liking the modern scoot ?

Welcome Dat!
Not sure why you're smelling gas so often, but this link will explain the bubble in more detail.
FAQ: What's that bubble filled with oil?

Aloha and welcome to the forum. You shouldn't have gas in that bubble just oil. Could your bike have been tipped over without you knowing it? Pull your air filter and see if you smell gas there. If so it's been tipped or some how over filled. Good luck

If it hasn't been tipped and it's non fuel injected,
Then the float bowl is adjusted wrong.

It's overflowing and dripping gas into the evap system,
Get your mechanic to adjust the float bowl setting.

That's my guess, Had the same problem with a Scarabeo 200,
The float bowl was set at sea level and I live above sea level.

Good luck

It could be that the needle valve is leaking. When the float rises in the bowl it lifts up the needle valve against the seat shutting off the flow of gas.
